Anyone received offer from ESF WKS after their play visit in January? I haven't yet. Getting a little anxious....

I can't wait also!! I only applied 4 IS. NIS already reject. So I had 3 chances....but I don't have much hope since my kid didn't do well

Same here, we've got offer from both NIS and ESF, dunno how to pick. Personally I like NIS more , on both the school environment and teachers, but it's a bit too far from us and not convenient .

No priority, that's right. But being an ESF taught kid will have a better advantage in getting into ESF primary.

I'm got an offer too at pm class. I'm also will not take an offer too. In play visit , they did said they have a assessment team to school and hv chance to interview, but the acceptance letter that I received today they point out "joining our kindergarten does not guarantee an interview or place within an esf primary school or an esf PIS in accordance with esf admission policy" I got a real case, son of my friend isometric of the few to accepted ESF year 1 among 30. Then what u guys think.

I remember quite clearly Chris said their students got priority for interview , so we applied. The acceptance letter doesn't say the same and their website also mentions no priority given to their kinder. Who should we trust?

Officially, no more interview priority extended to ESF kindergarten children who will start K1 this August.

However, ESF kindergartens have been feeder schools for ESF primary schools for many years and they have built up a very good working relationship together.

If the ultimate aim is to enter an ESF primary school 2 years down the road, would attending a non-ESF kindergarten give a child a better chance than attending an ESF one? I doubt so.

Like FattyDaddy says, if I want ur child to enter ESF for the rest of the years you should get ur foot in the door with ESF kindergarten first, it will be a better advantage.

Depends what's ur child's abilities are and what you are aiming for his or her coming years. You can be the only judge.

Congratulations! My son is required for revisit as he didn't speak much during the play visit at Abacus. Seems that it is quite difficult to get seat in ABacus. Some of my fd's kids rec'd waiting list while few if us (those born in Nov or early Dec) was required for a revisit.

From my understanding with school teaches, kids didn't speak n they couldn't confirmed if kids were ok or not even though they understood and could follow instruction.

Yes, seems no one talk about Abacus. No worry, revisit means you still have a chance. Otherwise, they can simply reject. For the waitlist, your friends got it after the visit?

My fd's kid was short-listed for play visit just like my son. Her kid was put on waiting list after play visit. In Abacus, it has only 88seats. As mentioned in parent meeting, principal said that they invited 110kids for play visit.

P.S. It has never mentioned the waiting list in our (my fd n I) play visit invitation email. Principal explained that they will ask for some more to play visit as back up - some parents may not take up offer.

Anyway, I am positive on asking for the revisit as my son is quite young n is good to assess at later time.
