我女K1, 剛入左IS 2個月
之前一直都係講廣東話
不過我最近發覺, 佢有D英文字發唔到音
好似

CREAM 讀成CLEAN
STAR 讀成 TAR
SHAPE 讀成 "識"
SQUARE 讀成 GEAR

我有教佢正音, 但佢點都發唔到
個咀型OR 條舌唔O岩型/位
請問係唔係正常?(2個月時間)
定係我要帶佢報D咩正音班???
可唔可以指教下我

Don't worry about it for now, children at K1 age don't yet have full control of their tongue and vocal muscles, give her more time and you should see rapid improvements {:1_1:}

請問女女幾歳？先不説英文、広東話（母語？）的発音正確？当然説若有錯音時、経改正後、可讀到？　我発覚「宜」家好多小朋友都讀不到正音、指広東話。　請先不要WORRY因母語不是英文、便会学不好。　無関係的、因年紀還細。

広東話大部份都得
係某D字, 好似"乖"讀左"街",
"菜"會讀左"SHOR"
我都有更正佢
但佢都講唔到

放心啦，我個女細D的時候也是不能發前面的"s"音，好似你囡囡甘,Star變了Tar、Sweet變了Weet等，不過大D就自然pick up到。佢現在3歲4個月，應該係一兩個月前先識（現在有時候都不正確架），但我有D朋友完全沒有呢個問題，所以每個小朋友的發展不同，不用太擔心。

I haven't read the research myself but someone more knowledgeable once told me that it takes about six months for a child to be conversant in a new language once they are immersed in it. But phonics may help?

3歲就學PHONICS會唔會太早?

不用擔心，在英國，很多兩三歲小孩同樣有＂S問題＂，不是母語與否的問題。

Crystal, it takes time for some kids. So, no worry. There should be an offer from school for speech assessment, costs around $600. A speech therapist will conduct the assessment. So if you are really worried, you may enrol your daughter when the offer is out.

今年過左啦,
老師叫我出年個時再睇下,
因為今年開學無耐就有呢個OFFER
不過當時我女都唔係好識英文
我估都無咩用
明天會睇下

經過左半年返學既時間
我女既發音好左好多
SMALL,SCHOOL,SNAKE都發到音了
相信真係之前仲細所以先發唔到

As some posters above have already said, it's could just be that your child's enunciation is not fully developed yet. I remember when my son was around 3 years old, he couldn't pronounce the "ka" sound clearly. For some reason, he was producing that sound at the front of his mouth (so it came out more like a "ta" or "tha" sound instead. It was the only problematic sound he had - and he is monolingual (English is his only language from birth) and he actually knew all his phonic sounds and could read already at 3 yo. So I don't think mispronouncing sounds is always because of a second language problem.

(Btw he is fine with it now, and at 4-1/2 yo, his diction is very clear. Sometimes they just need to grow out of it.)
