My son is currently studying in an English kindergarten now. Since we plan to return to Toronto eventually, I want my son to study in CDNIS when he's older.
Will it be very difficult to get in Grade 7?
I prefer to have him to learn more Chinese in a local primary school first.

由Prep至Grade 6 每級各五班(A to E)。
Grade 7加多一班至F。
再上高班些，不太清楚，但肯定唔止兩班！

True! Difficult or not depends on your kid's ability and performance during interview. However, it's undoubtedly becoming harder to get in, even when you already have another child(ren) studying in it. Despite its top-notch facilities, teachers vary from year to year...depending on your kid's luck. Nonetheless, all kids are very happy with this school(at least as far as I know).

I don't have any figure but guess that it is not too difficult to get a place at CanIS. Even the famous divorced-just-now actress's son managed to get in (whilst he failed to get a place at another private independent school and other IS).

FYI, his father is an alumni, that's why he may have priority. I still think it's not easy to get a place there.

How about the son of Hacken and Emily? Seems the couple are both HK local school students? Apparently they are not Canadian citizen or alumni? Their son can get in may be he is real smart or because of background?

Why is there so much misleading information? Nicolas Tse is the alumni of Hong Kong International. He was with the notorius Edision Chen in the same school.

CDNIS would consider siblings instead of alumni. Canadian passport holder would have priority. The concept of alumni applies to local prestigious school only.

It's not too difficult to get a place of Pre-reception and Reception class. You can apply for 2nd interview if the 1st one fails.

do you think they have priority in taking older kids ( i mean born jan thru may)... since my child is born october and i worried that her chance is much lower ..... of course i knew it also depends on the performance of interview... but anyone knew that whether there is any younger child (born sept-dec) get in their pre reception or reception?
as well, do you think if my child fails the interview for the first year, is she able to repeat pre-reception just to ensure a higher chance to get in? or if she fails to pass their reception class, will CDNIS offer pre -reception instead?

It's common the conduct and discipline of IS students are worse than those in traditional schools. But I know that it's better in SIS.

Do any parents know about the discipline of students in Canadian IS?
