IS is my target to let my son to study, however after checking the fees in some IS, it makes me really scared!!!!

Besides Tuition Fees, there are miscellaneous expenses , like debentures, capital levy, Caution Fee, Student Fees, Uniform fees etc......

Actually I am just a lower middle class, I am sure I cannot afford for the Expensive Fees. So I think if my son cannot enter ESF, I need to GIVE UP and enter the Local school.

Do you know which IS is among the cheapest (except ESF)?

Actually I am not quite clear the school for DSS. Is it between Local and IS? Are all the schools using English to teach?

If English is your only concern, yes there are some DSS emphasize on teaching in English.

KIS is not expensive too. You are right that most of the IS are very expensive in HK. If you can't afford it, think about the good things of local school. Afterall, I think the education in the family is also very important. Don't push yoursefl too hard to get into the IS.

You might want to check out FIS (French International School). Their personal debenture is HK$ 60K and their school fee is around $7500.

i think education is a long term commitment for your kid. think about that you need to support your kid to school for at least 20 years.

If English if your only concern... there are many good local schools that have everything taught in English except for Chinese.

Then you can use your budget on other things like private English and mandarin tutoring to get your child native language training... go to summer camps in US / UK/ mainland china....

Or join language / sports program at ESF.

There are many activities that allow children exposure to people who speak their native language in HK. That's the nice thing about HK.
