Hi all,

I applied ICS R1 for my little boy. Can somebody share with me the interview format so that I can better prepare? thanks a lot!

I am present ICS parents, are you aware that their R1&2 have no Chinese class?

I've heard the present principal is leaving HK for good. The interview may be different from the past.

yes, must reach 3 before 1 Sep.

Baku, I did not receive the letter for interview yet but I have received a call before from the admin lady to double confirm my mailing address. She said interview will conduct in Jan.

hi YauMum, I know that no Mandarin in R1 & R2 during the school visit last time. Although principle is going to change, but can you tell me what is the interview format that you have gone thru? That may be a good reference point to me. Thanks in advance.

Well, my daugther is 8 now, I wonder if the format is still the same. Anyway, it was about 8-10 pieces of puzzle, the interviewer read a book and observed response from the interviewees. I believe they show great concerns on the parents attitude at that time though we are not christian; luckily, we got in.

I believe parents attitude is more than anything.

Mind you, a very demanding school when they start elementary.

Thanks Yaumum for your information. Demanding is good. I believe the degree of demanding will not be as much as local school. I have an elder girl studying at local school where I found it's too pressurize and demanding. I prefer demanding but not pressurize so wish me luck on the upcoming interview. Thanks again!

Well, not just ICS and also other IS, are different from what I expected or my friends' experience in the past, I believe it causes from a lot of local parents who are demanding and they push the schools to become more demanding. When your kids have outstanding performance because of extra work, you will also push you & your kids to do more pre-work to have good performance.

Of course, IS is still less demanding than local schools which I must admit it.

Anyway, I did not expect it would be like it. Pressure to me, not to the kids.

BTW, all kids in the same school will be easy for holidays etc arrangement.
