Just to share with you what we went through for the interview with KS.

A group of children, around 10, had the interview together. Split into two groups, one sitting for a "formal" interview while the another group going to the playgroup for an informal one. Then the two groups swapped. Total time less than an hour.

Was told that the result will be announced before CNY. 160 children were invited for the 150 vacancies.

Is it different school have their own interview format ? My son will interview SJS this month end and the kindergarten teacher told me that the interview process last for 15-20 minutes.

My kid went to Bradbury for an interview yesterday.

There was a group of 8 kids with 4 teachers.  The teacher asked my kid about her name and her age.  Then read them a story and ask few questions.  The kids just to answer them volunteerly.  Afterward my daughter were asked to draw a picture about her family and need to explained it.  The last was free play around the room.

It took about 40 mins.  During the interview, the parents were having a tour around the school with the principal.

As 502 mentioned,  the result will being send out before CNY.

One boy from my daughter 's class was accept by ESF KJS and RC right after his interview( He must be really good). I didnt get the result yet. I called BHS today and they said letter ll be send out not later than Tue, keep checking the mailbox.

Do you mean the parents were told by the interviewer that the boy was accepted right after the boy came out from the interview?

If this is the case, it's quite amazing as I know most of the schools need to wait at least 2 weeks to a month before they can let the parents know.

RC has accepted a boy immediately after the interview?

. May I know who told the parent the result? If it's the case, is it possible to check the result? As I know, only an admin officer bring the kids to a classroom for interview and bring them back to the parent after interview. The teachers didn't meet the parents. A mami of my school called RC asking about the result of interview, the officer said they haven't got the final result because they need to hold a meeting to confirm, no matter of outstanding applicants or bordline cases.

KJS informed the children right after the interview . The KJS and BHS applicants from our school er interview in a same group. At KJS interview one boy was accept right away and the other failed. ( The failed boy's mom told me cause he cant make complete sentance and will retest again in May).And for RC, the boy's parent told me he got accept( Details dont know sorry). Thats why I m wondering is that the only case? Cause I m still waiting for the result. Thanks

I don't think the boy can take interview in both school (KJS & BHS). He can choose only 1 school in ESF for interview.

I've called BHS this morning. They said that they will send the letter this week, because some ESF primary schools haven't finished their interview. They need to wait all school finished their interview, then will send out the letter.

But I've already received the letter from Discovery College yesterday.

Do you mean your younger one is studying in KCIS and got accepted by RC? Your elder one was rejected by RC, which school is he studying now?

Yes, my younger son is studying reception class in KCIS now. He is very shy and always refuses to answer the question from strangers. So, I feel very surprised when I received the accepting letter.

My elder son was studying in a local school and he had failed the RC admission screening last year. After that, I switched him to KCIS Primary school. He feels very happy after this change. If possible, he will try to re-apply again.

My son was so shy and reluctant to answer the questions from a stranger, so he was rejected by RC. However, he attended interview with SJS yesterday but the teacher said he was ok at least he talked and answered the questions.
Hope SJS will accept my son. So so so .... worry.

I've received the letter from BHS this morning. BHS accepted my daughter.

So, we need to choose BHS or DC that my daughter will study in coming August.

DC has best facilities and good environment. More than 50% of their students are foreigner. If I choose DC, I'm afraid they cannot provide the school bus near my residential address.

Heard that if planning to aboard UK in future then chose ESF. If planning to US then ICS is that ture.

My friend had a brief conversation with one of the teachers when her daughter attended an interview a few weeks ago. She was told that there were about 220 applications to grade 1.

Thanks 502. I called to Kennedy today, they said they have sent out the letter last Friday.
I hope I can receive it by tomorrow.

I also received the acceptance letter yesterday ie 5 Feb and my son interviewed on 29 Jan. So so .... happy. The staff said we would receive the reply on 5 Feb irrespective of which date we attend the interview.

My son attended the interview in JIS on 31 Jan and haven't received any result. JIS said they will release the result next Fri or in the week of 18 Feb. How come you can get the result so soon? Did u ask Mr. Walton directly? Give me some tips, please..... I'm so anxious! I'm waiting for the result of JIS and ICS, the coming week is a BIG week for me

my son has been accepted by Discovery college, KJS and RC. I am struggled to select one in between. I think DC can provide better english but the school is new and worry about they are focus on establish the school rather than education at this stage. KJS will go to KGV which have good reputation on acedmaic result but Year7-Year11 is not IB. Can anyone share some opinions and advise to me. I need to decide soon. Thank you Thank you very much.

My daughter also got acceptance from BHS and DC. I like DC more than BHS, because DC has best facilities. I'm worry about the school bus. I'm afraid they can't provide the school bus near my address because we lived in Tsuen Wan. They said if they can't provide the school bus service near my address, the students need get on the school bus at the pick-up point - Tung Chung MTR. We don't have planning to move in Discovery Bay. I am living in TC so it's close to the school if go to DC. I think you can take the E?? bus to TC. For my case, I prefer KJS since standard ESF provide different diploma pathways that cover most universities around the world. (e.g. they have both IBD and A level). Also KJS and KGV has a very good academic historical records so I have more confident on their education system. On the other hand, DC really provide a good facilities, MYP and closer to me. Therefore, I am still struggling on select which one. But we have plan to make the decision tonite.

I am planning to apply ESF primary in this September for my son, however; he is not studying in a ESF Kindergarten. We are not in high priority ranking.
Now I am seeking for advice to apply which ESF Primary School and we can move to its catchment area.
My favourite is Kennedy School vs Quarry Bay vs Shatin Junior.

The competition for these schools are keen or not?

Thanks for your reply. Actually DC is a very good school, but its location is really headache for those not living at Discovery Bay or Tung Chung. Anyway, BHS is also a good school, congratulations!

My daughter will be sent to New Zealand for studying Kindergarten over there. We will take her back to Hong Kong once she aged 5.
