We had the interview on 19 Jan this year. Has SIS started sending out the 1st batch of offers for PY1 applications (2016-17 academic year)? Is it the case that this will be done before the Chinese New Year (it was the case for last year)? Any sharing is highly appreciated!

My daughter said she didn't answer one to two questions. As we don't have any priority, guess the chance is very low.

May daughter won't share with me much about what was tested during the interview - she only mentioned that she followed instructions of the teachers and made a house. All questions were asked in English, although we chose PTH as the interview languague, as per my daughter. The interview lasted for 30mins.

Seems the school had just sent out the offering letters. Rejected or waiting letter are pending.

No, its the first batch of the offer letters, and the 2nd batch is under preparation.

Many thanks for sharing. May I know the source of this information? The school told me this Tuesday that my daughter's result "has not been released" / "still unknow at the moment" - I've been feeling very depressed these days......

Understand your feeling. I want to know the result earlier too, no matter accept or failed. Keep checking the mail box these days. Thinking they would mail to the wrong address or not. Coz I have moved recently after application.

Did you inform the school that you have moved? Or do you have any mail re-divert service from HK Post?

From the school admin as I have an elder one having PTC yesterday, asked them for my friends. They are now busy preparing for the other batch.

Many thanks for the feedback which is really helpful!

Just cannot understand why they sent out offers in batches...maybe because this year's CNY is earlier than last year...

Kids are happy in general, focus in academic, actually quite harsh particular in the higher form. Follow Singapore edu system while Chinese is following local standard, so much harder than Singapore.

I called to the school already, knowing my daughter was rejected. The staff was very polite and willing to tell me the result. I feel So disappointed but at least I could know the result earlier.

We were so struggled to gave up YCIS offer. She is studying at local school now. We want her to have a better english environment in her primary school life coz we planned to send her to study aboard around 16-18 years old.

We got a letter saying "We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer your child a place in PY1 for academic year 2016-2017". But in a second paragraph it says "Your child will be placed on a waiting list of boys and girls....". Sara, does your "waiting list" letter look like this? Or is ours simply a rejection letter?

Yes, this is "waiting list" letter.
I got this for my elder girl in two years ago, and just got waiting list again for the younger one :p

We are Hong kongese , that's why I feel so luck that my girl could get in.
Wish my boy could get in later, but nothing we can do at this moment,
Just be patience :)
