I heard that previously there is some kind of connection between Anfields kindy and ESF's primary schools. Is it true that there is no such connection anymore? And are there still lots of Anfield kids getting into esf?

Not true, there isn't any connection between two. They have the same curriculum and teaching method, that's why some Anfield student entered ESF previously. But thing's different now, even ESF kinder students are not guaranteed, it's more difficult for other kinder students to get in ESF Primary. There is a clearly rule and mechanism to select applicant in ESF, you can check ESF website for more details.

When I said connection I was told that the anfield ex principal was actually part of the selection process and had chosen some anfield kids？

Not true now. Esf changed the admission policy, no more cat 1 & cat 2. Kids in another kindergarten with lower priority than kids in ESF kinder. And I have heard that not all kids in esf kindergarten with chance for P1 interview

So are these interview places now basically like given out randomly? For kids from outside of esf?

Check out esf site. They first go by priority then the random number assigned. Those with priority go before you in the line anyway

It's very hard to make up my mind if I should put my son in ESF TY! (Yes although we are still waiting for the interview)

If you target to ESF primary (especially BHS, KJS and SJS), you must send your kid to ESF kindy. PM me if you want to know more.
