We were invited to have an interview for Y1 last week, in which classes had actually started for a few days already. Result was out and we were told that our interview was successful and my daughter is now put on their "reserved list".

Does any parent have experience on being placed on the "reserved list" and the chance to get an offer? Is the waiting time usually of "weeks" "months" or "years"? We were told that the reserved list was only valid for 6 months, we will be invited to have interview again if no vacancies.

It all depends on which school and which grade.

Thank you so much, and your reply has definitely made my day! Do you mind telling if the offer is usually a short noticed one that we may be required to change school in just a few days (say receiving offer on Friday with school starting the following Monday)? Or do they inform you weeks/months in advance (e.g. an offer in Sep but joining the class after Christmas)? Just want to get prepared of what is going to happen in the next few months. Thank you so so much again!

My experience is knew the result immediately after the kid been interviewed. But my case was interviewed in Jun, then start in Aug, as there is summer holidays!!

But they will require the kid start as early as possible, less than a mth.

May I know how do they shortlist candidates ? By random number ? by passport ? I understand they will refer to the priority list but how about the majority of applicants with no priority ?

Thanks andersmama! I also wish to hear from the school as soon as possible. After all, she has already started her new school year now and is starting to know the teachers and make new friends. Is your child still with QBS? Would you pls share more info about this school especially school life and school culture? Only 用家 can give the most insightful information :)

For those with no priority should be shortlisted by random numbers assigned

Yes, you can ask them about the position of waiting list. If within top2, you will get your good news in few days.

I haven't asked but I guess we are within top 8 as there were 8 children taking the interview

My son was invited for an interview in late May, and was then received the offer right after the interview. He was interviewed on Friday and asked to go to school on the following Tuesday. We negotiated with the school and he started in the last week of June. He has no priority and was on interview waitlist.

wow! was he in Y1? So he started end of June for a week or so before summer holiday? May I know how many candidates interviewing with you in May?

He was year 1 during the last week of June, and now year 2. He was the only one being interviewed.

My son is not at QBS, but at Bradbury. The admission told that only top 1 will be interviewed for interview, coz if one kid left, then interview the top 1 on list, then if fail, top 2, etc...

I hv no priority, but had got interview offer as well.

But my son is studied at IS for 3 yrs...

Yes, he is lucky! So far so good, he seems happy everyday!
