Re: 油麻地兒童精神科
I have visited with my son this Monday. It's their clinical psychologist who met us rather than a psychiatrist. She claimed she knew autism better than psychiatrists.
The process is quite straightforward, simply Q&A on the kid's behaviour, quite repetitive to what had been asked in CAC. No ability test or actual assessment on the kid. In addition, there's a university psychology student help asking questions.
To me, those questions are very superficial to us parents who had already combating autism problems for a certain time. While the psychologist kept saying they had no resources to help as long as we already had government services, it's OK to take this as a backup service. The next consultation will be June.
It seems this exercise is just for their record keeping and student training, I don't see any instant benfefit to our kids. But no harm to go as it might be helpful some day, who knows? |
