深旺道St.Margaret 的優點與缺點??

本人也曾就讀St.Margaret (中)
小學:
本人認為St.Margaret 比較注重小學部;
有很多不同類型的課外活動 但學生禮貌就....(一部分)
中學:
  本人認為中學部某方面的自由度的確大;   但問題在於管理上:老師年年都不停變更,訓導組也存在着問題...

Just have time to read thr' messages abt other schools.

I have applied SM a couple months ago coz I only applied 2 schools for my son at that moment.   Now, my son is luckily got a place from one school, but so strange that SM still not call us to interview.  I feel so interests and call SM to ask abt it and the staff replied that SM has already accepted ALL students for P.1.  Moreover, they also got many applications on-hand.   They will wait for June to see if any place(s) release and will call applicant(s) to attend interview...

Wow...what amazing!!!  How come SM suddenly becomes such famous and get so many applicants???

I know (just in ball-part information) that P.4 / P.5 will adopt some subjects of secondary level.  Is it true??   If so, the standard of SM seems so high wor~

Could any parents (who have kids studying in SM) share more abt SM with us???

其實近年直資學校都好受家長歡迎, 因為大家對政府"大抽獎"既政策都有意見, 與其靠運氣去抽一間學校, 不如自己揀, 自己考一間心儀既學校好過.  加上直資學校有收生權, 學生都係被挑選過, 質素會有保證d.  學校亦可以自行編制課程, 會切合社會需要多一d.

好似聖瑪加利咁, 佢受歡迎原因多是以下幾點
1. 英語環境好好(十多位外籍老師)
2. 小班教學 (二十幾人一班)
3. 一條龍直上, 中學唔駛煩多次
4. 可以多學一種外語 (法文, 日文, 西班牙文)
5. 中文用普通話教學

我囡囡今年讀小二, 環觀佢既同學仔其實都好乖, 當中有d係活潑d, 多口d, 但都睇到佢地本質唔壞, 都好有教飬.  英文同普通話既進步最明顯, 英文已經可以寫到文章, 雖然有grammar mistakes, 但都可以表達到佢地想表達既意思.  我囡囡好鍾意返學, 對學校好有歸屬感, 功課壓力亦唔大, 每日都係得幾樣功課. 見到佢每日開心成長, 我覺得就算係要比學費都係好值得.

小五開始學校為配合中學課程, 所以課程中加插咗中學課程, 有歷史, 地理及科學, 我聽高年級既家長講程度都有中二那麼深, 相信對於佢地將來升中會打好一個基礎.

Hi G-Ma,

聽落都幾好喎。但我都想知 St. Margaret 係 P.1 - P.6 時課程是否同其他 local primary schools 一樣？或好似 cky 咁自行訂制課程？

話雖輕鬆，但以新校黎講，點都要交成績出黎，等多d人認同。咁佢地會點谷？

其實課程大概同一般官津差唔多, 係英文係學校自訂一套課程, 同出面教法係唔同, 多以project/topic形式教, 例如 holloween, christmas, fariy tales咁, 係每一個topic裡面等小朋友學多d生字同文法, 鼓勵小朋友多寫作.

直資始終要交成績, 如果唔係收生就會有困難, 所以到小三開始都會慢慢加多d練習, 不過學校唔多抄寫功課, 主要都係操練中文理解, 因為大陪份小朋友都會鍾意英文多d, 所以學校會加強中文既操練.

If so, any exam / quiz / test..etc the students have to attend?  How's the marking and ranking scheme and system??

Except Chinese to be taught in Putonghua, how abt the other subjects?  Are they taught in Eng or Chi??

請問是否都係英文面見呢,如家長英文能力不是太好會否影響個小朋友?

見家長係用中文, 所以唔駛擔心.

學校比較關心家長投放幾多時間比小朋友, 同埋家長是否認同學校既教學理念.

I have no idea about the banding of SMC. Do you know it?  
Is the medium English for those non-English language subjects?

SM 優點: 學校放在學生語言發展(英文 & modern language)資源很多, 學校課外活動多

SM缺點: 未是名校
我估計過多幾年會越來越多人認識
(聽說今年P1入學申請有1100人  爭80學位)

學校有護士真係幾好!
今朝個女在校車嘔,之後就立刻送佢去醫療室,護士同佢探熱&check身體狀況,同佢換過晒d衫,仲通知我地佢可以繼續上課.....以我所知,好多津校都係由d clerk去睇下,唔會有專人睇住d病童架!

若申請時, 已在學緊法或西文, 會否加分或即場以該語言測試呢 ?
有無家長啲小朋友在INTERVIEW時曾被考過法或西文呢 ?
