I am interested in applying P1 for my daughter in 2008-09. Do you know the quota for P1 admission in 2008-09? Apart from English as medium of instruction, about the Mandrin?? Thx

學校每年收生若80個. 我囡囡兩年前考時只係考英語, 無考普通話, 今年情況就要等其他家長話比你知.

該校收2個班每班約35人共收70人
約1/4收 1st language講英文的學生
70 x 3/4 =52人如男女生各半
將收26 boys & 26 girls chinese students
每年有幾百人考該校收生比率比TSL還少
真得很難考入

long time no chat!
我今年前前後後去了很多間直資. 我覺得st. margaret說明會,安排係最好最細心.首先佢怕小朋友吵,搵中學d哥哥姐姐帶小朋友去睇叮噹,等家長可以安心聽說明會, 之後就搵人一批一批家長帶去睇所有學校既設備. 完曬之後落到樓下仲有咖喱魚蛋,三文治,炸魚卷......
我係聽早上11:00說明會,說明會很清色,一句講完,英文係佢地賣點.唔似其他走國際模式既直資小學講思維創意,強調自學, 但最後條路又唔走(IB)課程,十分奇怪.而st. margaret有考試叫評估,上到p2/3仲有3次(老師同我講),接本地高考,但有考IGSCE.

不過今天個校董講英文果part好悶, 好似教英文堂,其實今天我隔離左右d小朋友既英文,好鬼鬼音,好似係加拿大回流又或者係讀英基果類幼稚園,下午既中文說明會我無聽.

如講直資,我覺得優才都好好,不過我唔鍾意佢係中文小學.
至於st. margaret間學舍比"培培" & " 浸浸" 細,但st. margaret好有心機搞個校舍,覺得好fancy, 設備好實際又靚,比我想像中好.
三千蚊學費係值,希望唔好再加啦!

Yes, I went to the Chinese session in the afternoon, I think they sell "English" and their native English teachers really really hard, and the first part seems to be phonics lessons for the parents, which is too long and boring.

I feel that the Chinese teachers are nice and friendly. But did not see any English teachers though.

I did not visit other DSS, want to compare with TSL, but TSL has no intro. session. I think campus is not a major concern, most important thing would be the teaching quality, which is difficult to be assessed in new DSS.

I attended the morning briefing session. Same opinion as my husband, we regard the speech by the chairperson is 1 of the worst speech we've ever heard. His focus point is wrong. He spent too much time on quoting phonics example. We, the parent did not want to be taught during the briefing session. We know that he's a professional in language but we just want to understand their vision, curriculum, teaching method etc. He's so hard sell. Do u remember his conclusion? Do u ever dream of your child that he can pronounce all the words in dictionary accurately? Yes, we can, come to St. Margaret & your dream will come true. Silly enough?

Anyway, though the speech is not so attractive (compare to Ying Wah), we'll submit form later since the whole english enviroment is undoubtedly attractive.

佢係校董主席,無mud幾"河"出來, 無計個喎！比佢show吓啦！5冼理既人物！佢講左９個字，校長的時間都比佢講埋！
兩個校長－譚校長＆副校長都好好, 態度＆英文, 先至係最重要既人物喎！
我搭傘了一個媽咪，佢今年運入p1新生會（跟朋友入），佢覺得間學校好好，今年會幫小朋友報名．
