Congratulations to all being accepted!

Just received a 'waiting list' letter from HKUGA.  Is there a high chance of getting accepted finally?

Anyone can share last year's experience, please?

我舊年都係waitlist入
機會係有既, 不過坦白講, 唔大! 聽講今年shortlist左366人second in, 即係話有around240人都係waitlist(舊年有top waitlist唔知今年有無)
校長舊年話, 有10個8個無去register, 唔知今年情況點.....舊年由於註冊左既學生都唔會有政府派位, 所以無咩人短期內會放棄hkuga學位, 今年收生遲左, 可能有家長會睇埋"自行"結果再作決定
anyway唔好灰心, 努力叩門! 加油!

Thanks for your response.  Do you think the school has a priority list in mind?  If so, does "努力叩門" help?

So quick to have the result letter send out? I just have the 2nd interview on Wednesday only. When your kids attend the 2nd interview? They don't post in the internet this time.

我舊年死纏難打副校長時, 佢話基本上係有set priority, 不過誠意一定會影響
你問我努力叩門有無用, 我梗係話有用啦

Is there a high chance of getting accepted finally?

I would say the chance is not slim. I know 2 kids who were on the waiting list in last year. They both got the offer in June/July. My friend told me that she got offer from most of the schools in the 3rd round, i.e. knock door stage.

My son interviewed this Monday morning and we received the letter this afternoon.

Hi, we had our interview on Monday morning too, may be we had met?   We are now on waiting list too.

On that morning, we saw a boy reading a book on Titanic and got some funny feeling, may be that's the reason why we are on the same boat now : : :

Maybe that boy is on waiting list too!     (Hope his parents not here)  

I don't think the School looks for a kid who is capable of reading some serious book at 5.  I believe that my son failed because of his "passive" personality.   :-|

my girl is on waiting list too.  Is that all those not accepted are on the waiting list, or some are rejected?

我問過校長(舊年), 佢話有4種信:
1. acceptance
2. top waitlist(好少wor!)
3. waitlist
4. reject (都係好少, 我自己估, 一係好差好差, 一係no show喇)

top wailist   應該係3月前都有消息嫁啦.  而且98%冇問題.
不過....真係好想...好鍾意間學校就出信比學校啦.  因為我都係咁做嫁.

另外想問問....小學/中學及大學是否有直接聯系呢? 直接d講....第日入HKU機會是否比較大D? 當然要事乎成績啦.  :

If your kid is in the top waitlist, I believe the chance of being accepted is very high. Few parents I know decided to give up their offers! It doesn't mean they don't like HKUGA, they simply have better offers from their dream schools. So keep your spirit high!
