施德福(Stafford) - 请给些意见

在苹果报纸网上看到，约克闹拆伙，其中提到两间约克，和金巴伦，但施德福就不计算在里面，只是说那个姓谭的股东，并没有在施德福的地址上，开另一间学校跟约克compete,而她也不是施德福的股东。
究竟施德福和约克的姊妹关系是怎样的一回事？约克拆伙会不会影响施德福？

根据学校提供的资料，原来约克和施德福并不是属于同一个集团，但却是友好姊妹学校，约克的冯太是施德福的课程总监，我记得在面试会当天也是这样称呼她的。这就是说明为什么施德福也会跟约克一样用Letterland。而在报章上所说的答辩人，只包括约克小学，约克中英文幼稚园，和金巴伦，而没有施德福。在行政上施德福是跟约克完全分开的。

但我就想不明白，为什么在面试当天，施德福本身的校长或校监没有出现，反而是身为课程总监的冯太出来讲话。基于施德福和约克那么多共同活动，很难想象这两个学校在背后的公司股份上面是没有关联的（比如说有同一个人拥有这两间学校的公司的股份）。

我们也有考St Catherine's, 也在等result.另外也有一间学校的英普班收了小猴子。

對!  我朋友的一對子女也是從约克K1轉到施德福讀K2, "那很难想象这两个学校在背后的公司股份上面是没有关联", 不然的話, 又怎會將現有的學生推薦至一間無関連的學校呢?? (始終是一盤生意）

不要緊, 距離開學還有一段時間, 只要有後着, 我們不需太担心, 也不會太徬徨, 可以睇定D

我相信基本上约克股东分家的事，对施德福的实质影响应该是零，但心理上的影响就很难说，我觉得学校需要向家长（起码是现在的）解释一下，让我们安心一点。

小猴子基本上也是用英文讲话，所以在local school当中，可以选择的不多，因为很多schools都是以中文为主导的，例如KV,KM,宣道，培正，等等。可能Soka也是其中之一。

所以soka口碑再好, 都不是本人的心儀學校!
雖然學費, 好平 ==$1600==.
其實真係好抵, 學園地方又新,,,,但都唔好意思

通常只要有多些NET的学校，又有Phonics为教材的，学费都不会便宜到哪里去。

有一天我们带小猴子到公园玩，碰到一对夫妇和一对双生子，因为大家都是04年出生，讲起申请幼稚园，我们提到施德福，他们第一个反应，不是说“what is it?",乃是“very expensive".

真係多謝你的寶貴意見, 很値得參考, 因為係第一手用家心聲    你去年有沒有考慮樂基（HKPS）, 你會點比較Stafford / HKPS, 我現在還很迷惑, 又15�16; 又請問你知不知Stafford有無教師流失既情況, 我自己面試那天所接觸的老師又真的很親切, 又聽你説老師都很関心學生, 我對這所學校都有很好印象; 但始終一日未決定都仍然15/16, 希望你唔好嫌我婆媽.  謝謝

I didn't consider HKPS last year. My choices were St Johannes, Stafford, Creative (Oxford Road).

However, after interview, I found Creative's syllabus was too simple for my kid.

My criteria of selecting a school for my kid were:
1) low teacher- student ratio: small class style so that each kid can have more caring & attention
2) offer whole-day class
3) high English standard
4) 活動教學 but still stress on discipline --> can strike a balance between traditional teaching &  活動教學

Most importantly, I prefer to choose a kindergarten not to be too 制度化 / 公式化 as I think kids of just age 3-6 years old need more personal attention & their progress are all very different. Some famous schools which admit over a few hundreds of students a year and work like factories are definitely not my cup of tea.

Moreover, as a working mum, I like to opt for whole-day class for my kid as she can have more influence from school in weekdays (instead of staying home with my maid the whole afternoon after school).

Since SF can fulfill all my basic criteria PLUS I found it a parent-friendly school with high transparency, I finally chose this.

For St Johannes, the major reason I didn't choose was its low transparency. The teacher-to-student ratio is also higher. It's also quite 制度化 / 公式化. Lastly, I found it even more demanding in $$$ aspects. It even requested parents to pay non-refundable deposit on school uniform of a few hundred dollars together with 留位費 !!!! Really unreasonable & so I didn't pay.  The only advantage of it over SF is that it has a primary school. However, if you confident with your kids & the school, no need to worry about if linked primary school. for a kinderagrten.

Just my sharing. I think you know you kid best and you should be able to choose a SUITABLE school for her. What I found good may not be the cup of tea for you.

My advice is famous schools are not necessarily good / suitable for your kids. There are many good schools which are not famous but may be good for your kids.

我的小女是Stafford的畢業生。我們一班家長都覺得此校無論教學與師生各方面都十分理想，特別一提是英文水平十分之高。

We found Stafford as standard kindergarten school.  The teachers hold the class in high level of teaching.
I first let my child attend her N1 in a famous kindergarten school. Although she did very good in this school. I still believe in lesser ratio of pupils in class is better, for the teacher can give them more attention and care. And the teaching method they gave to my child was execellent. Especially their english teaching.
