Yamaha U5 and Kawai K-80E AS

我都曾經考慮過U3, 但綱琴老師話若然買u3, 就不如u1, 效果差不多. 但u5就有三角琴既效果.可以用到演奏級.

damper pedal is the right one, the middle one is sostenuto pedal and the left one is soft pedal (U.C.)

彈鋼琴都係麻煩架啦, upright 同 grand 既pedal 連排位都唔同, d 生產商真係應該要留意下呢樣野!

唔好介意我甘講, 如果要u5, 甘不如豪多1萬, 買隻最細size 既kawai baby grand 都做到, 我自己就覺得唔值囉~~~ 更何況個pedal 既mechanism 同grand 既pedal 都唔同, 一樣就話有得考慮下, 但依家既科技又好似未有甘advance

其實琴既野, 無話用唔用到演奏級既, 外國好多concervatory 隻琴麥又係霉霉爛爛, 一樣造就好多人材出黎, 只係香港既小朋友比較幸福, 唔需要好似人地甘刻苦罷了, 而且話隻琴可以最多用到八級, 似係sell 你買貴d既琴既說話

依家d grand 已經愈賣愈平, 如果地方夠大既, 真係要隻baby grand, 好過買隻貴價upright, 反正d $既difference 又唔係真係好大

Hi all,
Do you mean the pedal position of U5 is different from other Yamaha upright? or different from the grand? Sorry I am a bit confused. Usually for a junior players like my kid, she use only the right leg (right pedal) to make a soft sound. If the position is different, it is quite hard for the player to adjust, isn't it?

I think for a junior players actually a upright piano is ok....even not a U5 or K80E but need to consider the touching on the panel sometimes...2nd hand is better than brand new one...
For brand, I think both Yamaha and Kawai is ok .....
when the little kid gradually gain interest and learn longer....then change to U5 or even baby grand will be more better....(if space allowed)

Thanks Esmond'sMom. Now I understand better. But is that Yamaha U5's middle pedal has a similar effect of a grand's sostenuto pedal that you mentioned? or just like a ordinary unright (for silent function)?

"only difference is the middle pedal. On a grand, it is a sostenuto pedal. I've mentioned its proper function earlier. And bass-sustained pedal is a type of sostenuto pedal that sustains bass notes only. On an upright, they use a silent pedal to replace a sostenuto pedal on a grand."
