Is St. Stephen's College Preparatory School a good choice?

Dear all,

My son was accepted for the Grade 1 of St. Stephen's College preparatory school.  What's your comments on the school culture, curriculum,etc..?  Also is there any way to know the grading of the secondary school?

The deadline for payment of deposit is 22 to 24 November.  I received the confirmation letter on 8 November.  Please comment.

School fee is high, academic results of its secondary school (especially public exam) is not exceptionally good. Many students will study abroad.

我兒子就讀一年級,學校營造了一個很好的語言環境,他回家會主動和我說普通話或英語.

My daughter has been accepted from SSCP as well.  I am really happy for her since this school has an excellent environment and is strong in English & music, but it is far.  However, I am planning to send her aboard as well when she reaches P6.

Agree! Yet the primary school is pretty good.  You have lots of activities and the environment is nice.  English is taught by NET's. However, after primary school, many students study abroad.  If you enroll your child in the boarding school, he/she will go abroad without problems at all.

My friend was from this school.  He told me that his childhood was fun and happy, and that he ended up meeting many of his St. Stephen's friends in Canada.

我個人就覺得，是否good choice 取決於你小朋友的性格和家長對學校教育的認可程度。到目前爲止，我還是較滿意學校的整體表現。無論對學生的人格培養，生活技能培養，社會化培養及知識的傳授都有較全面的提供。
舉例來説：
英語學習，不僅是NET.更重要圍繞自定的教學計劃，老師各出奇謀，主旨是愉快學英文。p1開始，就初步引入簡單的語法，p2加強點，一步一步，打好基礎。
中文是普通話教學，語言很好，而且學校在這方面是本地先驅，已頗有經驗。只是教語文的方法稍顯傳統。不過公平的講，哪個學校的中文學習可以擺脫傳統呢。可能是由於我們文字的獨特性，學中文就是由字、詞、句開始，沒什

My daughter received offer from SSCPS as well.  Like yours, I am eager to know the strength of the school.  As a personal words, I feel the environment is good and the teaching methods for both Chinese and Englisg are fine.  Nevertheless, the school fee is really high and it is rather far from the urban area.  The reputation of the school is also declining.  It is a difficult decision for me to make.  I have a question to all parents of potential SSCPS student, are you living close to the school?

Hi Yanga,

St. stephen 的學生有北至太古城（曾有家長問，如搬屋來港島，那裏校車最快，校方說太古城），西至薄扶林都有不少學生搭校車，車程45-60mins。更不用説還有住灣仔區，南區的了。而且，我還聼到，有幾個媽咪講，她們來自九龍。不過，就不知道他們是如何解決交通問題了。
