I'm not a CKY parent because my child is just a K1 student.  Same as you, I like the school's 教育方式和理念.  I always keep an eye on your and other  parents' views of this school.  Please keep on sharing with us!

I heard that the school's financial status is not very good, not even to support a better school library system, is it true?  Has it been improved yet?  About the school campus, I have the same expectation, too.  It was claimed to be the largest primary school in HK, what is your view?

The book you mentioned ("Guess how much I love you") is a lovely book.

Both CKY & Yew Chung borrow the building (it used to be 柏立基) as temporary campus.  Yew Chung charges much much more than CKY.

i would like to ask if your child study at CKY until finish the secondary school F. 6 or F. 7.  Will you plan to study on broad.  i'm afraid their stardard is okay for the formal university level at HK?

我於24日有參加這校的簡介會, 我發覺間學校非常殘舊, 不知點解會收咁貴學費! 我問過D教師, 佢地話這校舍會重建, 即是話我們2006-2007讀小一的小朋友要在其他暫借的校舍上課, 但暫時仲未知邊間學校會暫借, 我想可能是D 被教統局殺校的小學! 而明年入讀此校的小一學生, 相信要小四才可入讀新校舍

恕我寡聞，我未聽見有小學被教統局殺校的，只聽聞是自殺的。一般上，一所學校有四班，每班35人。但有的學校，連一班也收不到，不單一班也收不到，也一班24人也收不到，這是自殺，不是被殺。

學校殘舊，不等於不好，收得貴，是因為能提供優質教學，私立學校，如不能提供優質教學，自然會静静地執佐佢，不像一些津校，政府給double小班都做唔住，執佐都姓賴。

I went to the briefing session on 24/9.  Even the school is not well renovated, I really like their concept, only have concern about their new location next year.  I think at least they should let us know which district the school is going to move?  Voasia,  do you have any idea where will it located?  Anyway, I'll send in application for my boy.

一本成寸厚的Thomas The Tank Engine Collection 56 Stories
程度大約是oxford reading tree stage 10-11左右
不用一星期，在不用家長的幫助下，在課餘時間讀完
他最怕普通話課，但今年開始用普通話授中文課
令他的普通話聽力也增強很多，相信下學期他的普通話說話能力也會提升

抱歉，我不是想show-off我的孩子
而是想說，比我孩子英語能力更好的同學多的是
奇怪的是，很多家長用校舍來衡量學校的value
究竟選校，是選它的hardware　（校舍）
還是選它的software ( 老師�教學方法�理念)

對我來說：校舍舊，so what?
搬校舍，除左交通問題，then，what's the big deal？
CKY不只是搬校舍，而是連老師和教學理念一起搬過去的

如果不贊同CKY的教學方法，只不過是大家家長的理念不同
但如果只是因為校舍的外殼而選校......這個...這個...真是難以理解

Hi Mis,

There are 22 interest groups for this semester.   You could find the full list in CKY website:

These interest groups are all optional activities held on Saturday at the school.   Other than that, kids are required to pick one musical instrument and the instrument class is arranged during week day.

Besides school fee, you may have to pay lunch fee (unless you bring your own lunch), school bus (unless you arrange your own transport), fee for the interest group (but that is not mandatory), fee for textbook(sorry, my memory is too bad), fee for supplemetary material (~600) but no additional major expense.   One thing is to buy your own muscial intrument & the instrument lesson fee

I would like to ask the parents who will apply this school this year or who's kids are studying in this school already. What other schools do you apply for backup?

As I also want to apply this school but I know it is difficult to enter. I believe that we have the same expectation for schools we choose just like choosing CKY. So please give me some ideas.

I am very worry about not applying enough schools for backup for my son as some of them are famous schools. I don't believe in lucky draw as the area I live has no school matching my expectations at all.
