請問家長的小朋友現在S3. 而打算S4/S5 去英國?阿囡有中讀障, 數理算不錯. 英文一般.  S4去便 一年IGCSE  OR S5 直接去A-LEVEL . (foundation 暫不考慮)
心見中是LONDON 火車程2.5小時內.  的BOARDING SCHOOL
有無家長似我情況去找BOARDING ?

ps -我都明越早去越好. 但要看小朋友能力

入學計9月一日年齡，而唔係香港讀到form幾。如果足14歲未夠15歲可以入讀Y10。如果足15歲未夠16就要入Y11，足16歲未夠17歲就Y12。

如果讀完S3係未夠15歲可以試入Y10。如果唔介意讀多一年，就算過咗15歲都可以試下同學校傾可否讀「低」一年（不過要逐間傾）。

我就唔建議有選擇下揀讀一年制iGCSE，理由亦喺另外一帖詳細講咗。簡單講，會開一年iGCSE嘅學校好少，好學校更少。通常一年iGCSE考嘅科目比正式GCSE少，影響A level揀科又影響之後再轉去更好學校。如果入唔到Y10，不如等到啱時間入Y12。

倫敦2.5鐘火車範圍其實都好闊下，boarding school選擇都好多。不過你都係要列出擇校條件先可以俾意見。例如你想：
- 女校？男女校？
- 全寄宿比例高？
- 傳統寄宿？
- 課外活動？
等等。

不如講多少少，睇吓幫唔幫到你。

如果你明年去英國，唔考慮好多學校過咗申請deadline，大部份學校會俾佢報讀y10

對，讀完S4嗰年9月1日足16歲就係入Y12。因為係6月出世，可以免強試下而家報出年（即係讀完S3）入Y10。因為牽涉校長酌情權，邊間學校可以就真係要接觸咗先知，而家唔敢講定。

今時今日，絕大部分寄宿學校都會有泳池（係唔係暖水／恆溫）另一回事）。

如果想搵全寄宿比例高，比較傳統嘅男女校，你可以由下面個list開始做下功課：
- Rugby School
- Uppingham School
- Oundle School
- Shrewsbury School
- Repton School
- St Edward's School
- Haileybury School
- Stowe School
等等。

你好，我個仔出年9月14歲，入Y10，請教一下有無近Bournemouth附近的Boarding School？因我不能一同去，但有好友在那區住，可幫忙照顧。

好老實講，入得Boarding school（假設揀到一間好嘅，寄宿比例高嘅），其實大部份時間都會喺學校裏面，根本冇需要有親戚朋友去照顧。

唯一需要嘅係每個term兩個exeat（即係long weekend）同埋half term假期，同埋雖要一個指定在地guardian等學校有咩緊急事故可以聯絡。所以我個人建議係唔好被親戚朋友局限咗學校選擇。

如果真係必須喺Bournemouth附近嘅寄宿學校，咁或者可以諗下Canford School（～650人，大約400個full boarder）或者Bryanston School（～800人，大約580個boarder包weekly/flexi）。前者係相對傳統模式嘅寄宿學校，雖然比較地區性，同埋歷史唔算太長。後者絕對係新派寄宿學校（校服係著polo shirt嘅），特別適合藝術型（無論係視覺／立體裝置／表演藝術等）小朋友。

如果唔使喺Bournemouth，選擇多好多。其實你應該先諗下你想喺寄宿學校得到啲咩，將擇校條件列出喇先真正可以篩選。可以參考下我啲日誌，亦歡迎PM我直接討論。

早D去, 用兩年時間準備考8-10科GCSE點都好D吧!
一年制既GCSE課程, 大多數只包5-6科(可再額外付費遂科報讀), 而且普遍係等於年半至兩年既學費(5-6科既價錢)

如果擔心能力不夠, 更加應早D去

其實你會用咩身份過去?普通International boarding, 就只能選私校, 咁基本上就自讀完S3過去都可以去讀Y10 (私校基本上唔按年齡收生)
如果用BNO VISA (但要家長一齊過去), 可以去報有Boarding 既state school, 收費平好多, 唔少係唔駛 GBP 15k 一年
