Most international schools don’t hire NQT (newly qualified teachers), they require at least few years of teaching experience in the field.
For local schools, depending on what subject you’re applying for. For English teachers, you will ask to complete a tefl (can’t remember what it’s called but it’s for teaching English as a second language) with certain hours of attendance and practical lessons before letting you join the NET pool. After that, you can start looking for jobs from local schools…. Not sure other subjects
But if you do a pgce in the uk, it’s better to look for a teaching job there for the first year. That’s what they call NQT. Without that, you won’t be allowed to teach in the uk at all (if you go teach somewhere right after pgce and decide to go back to the uk to teach)… you have to become a NQT first, then you can start looking elsewhere. But teaching in the uk is not an easy job, very low pay for what they have to do and the stress they have to deal with.. I have known a lot of (teacher-to-be) students decided to pull out and changed to do something else after they had started their practical at an actual school (as they realise the reality!)
