My friend's son (local student) is now studying Electrical and Computer Engineering in Ryerson. His G11 average was 94%. Due to the pandemic and remote learning in G12, his average dropped to 89%. He applied UofT EE, and CS, and Ryerson EE, and received offers from UofT for CS and Ryerson for EE. He finally select Ryerson EE instead of UofT CS.

I asked my friend why not CS of UofT. He said, you all always aim for UofT. But, the employers here just don't care. Besides, EE graduates will get higher pay than CS.

I don't know if it is correct or not. But, they have been in Toronto for over 30 years, so I will not argue with him.

因為安省 UTP 只有 ryerson university & 另一間近郊的大學.  ryerson university 未聽個, 所以問下好唔好, 如果返香港工作, 僱主都未必認識. 另BC省Simon Fraser university 亦都有UTP.  不過我想安省多啲.  定係揀間多人識呢

我家剛經歷完大學選戰，可以分享一些看法：
1）選大學不要只看xx綜合排名，因為有時得啖笑；
2）要看家庭環境、經濟能力和屋企人居住地域；
3）孩子自己的意見。

加拿大安省的話，識人分別在Ryerson, Waterloo, McMaster 和Toronto 四間大學就讀，各人都按自己當時最好的能力選擇不同科目入讀不同大學，依家各有自己不錯的發展。

想講，最緊要孩子肯讀，搵到相配的大學就足夠。

至於我最近的經驗，孩子已放棄了UoT的offer, 只保留Waterloo, 因為他較欣賞Waterloo 的co-op program; Toronto 雖然都有，但佢從網上搜集資料得知，UoT在這方面做得冇咁出色。

至於Ryerson, EE是該校的強項；不過事隔多年，最近聽到學校改名，家人話有D唏噓喎。
