唔知是否同一樣野，我用HK HSBC global transfer 去US HSBC. 然後打算用US HSBC在美國唔銀行之間轉錢。之前要先去HSBC總行開US戶口。要先預約。

即係同一間銀行兩地分行內部轉錢，咁滙豐而家美國冇分行嘅話，就會做唔到 global transfer，正確嗎？

我剛在網上找到這段消息, 原來賣了90間, 另20至25間升級為wealth management center, 其餘關閉.

NEW YORK -- British banking giant HSBC says it is closing its U.S. retail banking business in order to refocus its efforts on wealth management.
The bank will sell 80 East Coast branches to Citizens Bank and another 10 on the West Coast to Cathay Bank. All deposits and bank accounts will be transferred to those two banks, HSBC said. Another 20 to 25 branches will be converted into wealth management centers, and any remaining branches will be closed..........

呢段我都有睇過，而家美國個網頁直情唔work，剩低嗰廿幾間會轉為wealth management，門檻唔低，我估我寧願每次轉錢俾少少wiring fee。

可以用到HSBC US online banking，之後在HSBC HK 用到global transfer. 之前要打電話去HSBC US hotline先完成到整個過程

其實我都係一知半解，我試咗用global transfer 錢去自己HSBC US戶口。等啊女九月開學有美國的銀行戶口之後，先至試埋轉賑入她的戶口。

我大概了解了一下這個Global Transfer, 好像幾好用.  先在香港滙豐總行開設海外賬戶(全球30個國家都可以) , 若是HSBC Jade, Premier, the One客戶, Global Transfer免手續費.   可以直接免費打款到孩子在美國新開的銀行賬戶.  也可以通過網上銀行, 支付美國境內其他個人費用, 美國境內各銀行之間轉賬若用ACH一般是是免手續費的.

我用了呢個方法轉錢去加拿大比亞女好幾年， 其實好多UK 嘅學生都係咁。
不過留意， 通常啲parents 同個student 首先最緊要開個hsbc joint account， 之後個student 自己可以再開獨立戶口 （can be hsbc or other local bank）。之前有啲case global third party transfer 試過唔得， 被block， 因為唔同jurisdiction 有唔同要求， for the sake of anti-money laundering。

剛剛發現學校要求T-SPOT TB Blood test 或Quantiferon Gold TB Blood test. 暫時找到一間可以打Quantiferon 但係冇Gold字不知道是否一樣。

以我所知，T-spot 同 QuantiFeron 兩種都係用抽血來測試TB嘅方法，唔會好似skin test 咁容易有false positive result。

已忘記女兒當年用邊種，只記得係QuantiFeron。剛上美國嘅網站睇只見到Gold Plus，我相信較早期嘅version可能已經被淘汰。

美國大學的學生醫療保險好多都要近5千美金一年。網上見有人用Student Medicover的保險去申請代替學校的保險。見Student Medicover的plan基本上和學校的一樣，但是只需1/4的價錢。想問大家點睇？

就如我之前講過，美國嘅保險好複雜，我兩個女兒都係讀外州大學，咁本州嘅保險已經唔符合大學要求，所以我都係要買學校保險。你提及嘅 Student Medicover 我第一次聽，可能女兒唔係留學生，之前冇留意，見你提到我隨手搜尋咗幾間大學有提及呢間公司，俾你參考下：

Babson College:
Please note that the following are NOT considered comparable coverage and are NOT eligible for a waiver of the Babson College Student Health Insurance Plan:
International student insurance plans such as ISO, PSI and Student Medicover (these plans are not ACA compliant, are not filed in the US and are not eligible for a waiver.)


USC
International student insurance plans such as GBG, PSI and Student Medicover are not filed in the US and are not eligible for a waiver.


Brandeis University
Please note, health insurance plans marketed solely to international students are often not filed in the US, have limited benefits and/or coverage periods that do not comply with Massachusetts Student Health Plan Regulations and the Brandeis University waiver requirements. ISO, PSI, Student Medicover and NYIS Insurance are examples of companies that do not meet the waiver requirements, but market their plans to international students.


個人意見覺得有風險，最好直接問下大學接唔接受。

查看過學校的website，只是有講waive的procedure而沒有說眀那些保險不能夠用。都係直接問學校好些。

我都見到近年好多學校都要求學生保險要ACA-Compliant.

我相信ACA Compliant 係最基本要求，如果個保險計劃係ACA Compliant，就應該可以apply waiver.

我本來都係咁諗，孩子也是跟大學買。不過近排有個做保險朋友提醒我, 去到外國讀大學小朋友一定會出去玩,有時一大班人開party,唔小心整爛人哋啲嘢或者出事,當中可能會涉及public liability. 因為美國人可能會告到你破產,最好買份保險cover呢一方面嘅Liability. 我本身都冇研究請問你知唔知道通常大學嘅Insurance plan有冇呢方面嘅cover？
