請問有冇家長既小朋友讀緊Oxbridge School?

This is a new school opened in August 2021 in Hung Hom. Anyone know more information about this school? Or have already applied?

Did u joined their open day before? I did not apply but joined their open day before.
It is a tiny school at ground floor of a building. It does not have a feeling of a school but rather like a big tutor center. I am bit concern about experience of their teacher and the school as well, since they don't have past experience in operating a school. I also concern about their financial power to run the school.

Why are you interested in the school? As a step-stone to another international school? If I have choose, it will not be my first choice. I will prefer ESF, FIS, KIS, JIS than it, which have similar school fee.

第一次聽到呢間學校名就諗起"周六福".   認真的，唔好做白老鼠，點知佢係唔係另一間Mount Kelly.

We went for an interview and a school tour. We got an offer after 20 hours, so it was a quick offer. Then the admission whatsapp me at 1030pm at night and asked if I have any questions Yes I agreed it doesn’t feel like school at all and not well established yet. So I wasn’t too excited about the school. But want to know if anyone have comment about it since no one ever open a post about this school.

Did you apply any of the schools u mentioned?

我都有唸緊呢間，我有去open day，都有唸過申請，學校比較細但還可以，係間學校太新無資料，又唔知金主係邊個，最怕變第二間Mount Kelly..

They said if enter now, no capital levy for the rest of the years at this school. But entering in August 2022, there will be a capital levy annual $29,xxx. Because 2021-22 is a their first year, so no levy for the foundation year. 2022-23 is the second year, so they will start to have the levy.

我都有聽到。。不過見d細路都讀得幾開心，同埋小班最多15人，我仲係唸緊好唔好apply ...

九龍區呢個價錢我寧願揀AIS，起碼唔會執笠先。

大圍Anfield 都係British curriculum，唔係遠好多。

I am not a parent there but I am aware my child’s ex classmate went there. The fee is reasonable, small class, mostly taught in English.
It feels like similar to Invictus. Coz they don’t have many facilities guess they can charge lower fees.

They say they will open year 6 this coming Fall, then they will open year 7 nearby... they are planning to open a secondary school. They also said they are expanding to the building next door. Right now they will bring the kids to a playground, few mins walk away from the school. They reserved the playground so not open to public during that period of time.

I think the headmaster is the investor as well. The most advantage of it is small class, other IS usually have around 30 students per class. I think it will accept most (if not all) students at this moment.

I took a look on AIS before as well, I think it is better choice as other pointed out. Just a little bit more expenisve than those in my list. I applied 5 IS and got 2 offers finally. One of it is in the list. The other one is good as well but much more expensive, so i rejected.

Some IS will only be able tp give u an offer on last minute (like in July/Aug). If you are more flexiable and not already paid too much on other school, it will be a good offer.

Are you applying for year 2? Can I ask what other IS u applied? Yes their only advantage is small class, 15/ class. They said they will keep it 15 as max. Even there are more children applying.

At least they make an effort to make up the fact they don’t have outdoor playground. I think it’s important for the kids to get sun exposure. I understand you must be considering this school for a reason. Not sure if they allow non existing students to join their Easter camp/ summer camp for instance. It may help to get up close to the school.

I applied for year 1. I mostly only consider those with "cheap" price (ie ~130k per year)ESF: Good comments and "cheap" on secondary school compare to others IS. The disadvantage is very hot and hard to get in.
FIS: 2 campus to choose and quite "international".
KIS: "Very cheap" and consider to be easy to get it. But not as internaional as others.
JIS: One class per grade only, no secondary school.
ICS: Good for someone with religious.
ASHK: "Expensive" but with very small class (~15 ppl).

For some IS within similar price, they already have swimming pool, carteen, playgound etc. And for small school, it is hard and expensive to hire specialists for teaching subjects like PE, music, art, foreign language etc.

Other disadvantages of a small school include difficulty to arrange schoolbus routes and lunch services. Socially, you have only 10-20 kids per grade to play with, it’s all or none whether you can find good friends. Not to mention the lack of sports team, choir and orchestra etc. and you won’t expect to have much ECA choices.
And the school still need to hire school nurse, counsellor, special learning teacher, IT supports etc I wonder if the school can run at optimal level or they will just omit some of the services.
130K per year is really not that cheap, I would rather consider ESF/KIS etc. in fact some ESF on HK side is not too difficult to get in.
