[If talking about 乖乖仔, then should be Paul Boys, however only relatively. Because both are "boys" school.... no matter how good that they look like, parents can still think that they are 曳, compare to Co-ed school]

[La Salle: Traditional, many pp in one class, Paul Boys: Less pp in a class, relatively caring more]


4）學校課外活動多選擇嗎？一般一星期幾次？
[Under Covid, both not much...... La Salle traditionally more activities, especially sports]


5）考試測驗默書次數？
[Both school changed to 3 semesters and 3 exam]


6）有否教淺考深？
[As i know both not, as already 教深, especially in English...... generally elite school English is more demanding compare to normal local school, even district top school.]


7）平均每日功課多少及難度？
[Both around 7, difficult or not totally depend on your kid]


8）放學大部份學生都需要補習？
[If some one tell you not, do you believe them? This is not a problem of La Salle/ Paul Boys. It is more related to the whole HK education system. Of course, if your family can support his education, then may not need to have extra after school for them.]


9）你認為學生和家長，壓力大嗎？
[Depend on what parents want. No pain No gain.
A lot of talented students in the class, but still plenty of normal students.]


10）家長整體相處融洽有善嗎？
[Paul Boys should be relatively better as school helped you to filter the students and families. You will find all families are more or less in the same social class level. And most of the kids will see each other from P1 to S6 provided that they are still in HK and Local education system (Generally the same for all elite DSS school). However, in La Salle, family mix will be quite different as they are still aided school even though a large part of them are coming from old boys families. And every years will have top tier students from other top district elite schools to join, they are normally (including parents) very aggressive.]


11）妳小朋友返學開心嗎？
[To me, boys school almost equal to happy.]


12）有得再揀過你會再揀呢間嗎？
[You wouldn't regret if you take any one from them.]

lskstephen, thank you SO MUCH for your time and detail input. I particularly love "[To me, boys school almost equal to happy.]"...so funny!

I think Paul Boy is about 26-28 students per class.  How about LS?

As for 教淺考深, I heard DBSPD's teacher only teaches the basics, but often test the kids in deeper level of the knowledge, forcing parents to bring the kids out to tutoring to drill deeper into what they learned in class.  Do you think both school have the same practice?

If you have to choose one school out of these 2, which one would you choose?  (I know it's a Hypothetical question, but just for fun. :))

Finally, just out of curiosity, do you have boys in both schools?

Again, I really appreciate your time and input!

1）學校重視品德教育嗎？ ==> 唔覺
2）整體大部份學生品德／氣質   ==> smart，活躍、曳
3）學校活動教學元素 ==> 初小 only
4）學校課外活動多選擇嗎？一般一星期幾次？ ==> 自由選擇，一至六都有，但疫情下，全部無得玩
5）考試測驗默書次數？ ==> 3考，測驗唔計分，數學不定期有小測，其他科應該無，默書一個學期各3-4次，唔會同一個星期默兩樣，一定分別，範圍早起碼兩星期派
6）有否教淺考深？==> 有淺嘅題目，有未見過嘅挑戰題，一般情況，平均分過90嘅，一班有約5個，初小會多d，之後都係大約小數人>90，一路都係咁，應該唔算考深
7）平均每日功課多少及難度？ ==> 數量可能有6-8份，但每份唔多，worksheet 可能只要求做一頁，又唔會好難
8）放學大部份學生都需要補習？ ==> 人地唔知，但我兩個仔有响外面學英文，但非學校課程嘅英文，唔知算唔算補習喇
9）你認為學生和家長，壓力大嗎？ ==> 壓力呢樣野，好睇人，家長自己決定俾幾大力度去壓個仔，學校反而去到高小先同d細路講呈分，講過馬路
10）家長整體相處融洽有善嗎？==> so far 見到無太大問題，有問有答
11）妳小朋友返學開心嗎？==> 兩個仔，一個唔開心 (成績好，學校唔係學習嘅地方) 一個就好開心 (好鍾意响學校、學到野，成績中下，band 1/2 邊沿人)
12）有得再揀過你會再揀呢間嗎？XD  ==> 我大仔情況比較特別，佢係適合SFA嘅，只係為弟弟轉去LS，佢自己有後悔，因為响學校其實見唔到弟弟！我呢？佢要出事，去到邊都唔會差好遠，最大分別係SFA可以俾佢跳班，LS唔得！SFA 會當佢寶，LS 當佢草！

喇小 max 33人一班，以往小一開學係31人，慢慢插班到小5 有33人

但今時唔同往日，聽聞今年小一開學收足33人，太多人退學喇.....

唔可以咁講，總有d人品學兼優，只不過唔係我兩個仔
緣份呢樣野，好難強求，錫佢嘅老師唔係無，有一位老師做過我兩個仔嘅班主任，佢好到叫我大仔轉校！話呢度唔適合佢...

個個聽到都覺得個老師趕佢走，但我唔覺得係咁，佢應該發自內心嘅為佢好，可想而知，佢嘅生活幾咁惡夢！

其實，普通人，普通smart 嘅人，應該無開始，應該讀開心嘅
只係我仔唔係一般smart，所以比較麻煩....

請問哥哥成績好, 在學校會唔會比其他同學多一D 機會呢? 例如做班長,選去 train 朗誦, 奧數比賽, 入校隊等...

La Salle is a big class school, may up 33 per class in P5/6, but normally 30 to 31.

Many pp said that DBSPD is very demanding in terms of exam. However, my friend has kid inside who told me another story. Anyway, for Paul Boys/ La Salle, I will say about "right" in terms of "teach" and "exam".

Funny question, I will still say that pick any one of them wouldn't make you regret.
Of course, if you consider have similar family mix and have chance outside DSE in secondary stage, it will be better to pick Paul Boys.


Personally, I love both schools and always recommend them, especially Paul Boys as it is DSS, no district restriction.
