For HSBC, you can open a UK account if your kid got a conditional offer.

小兒是年尾出世，明年升讀大學時還差少少才夠18歲。睇依家疫情個環境，我哋希望响香港盡量安排好銀行戶口，到時佢自己飛去開學會好啲。

HSBC 和東亞都要預約去總行開英國戶口，可以早D問定，人多可能要預約二三個月

My son opened his account in the UK last year during lockdown. He tried to open an account in HSBC. He went to the bank and people there asked him to fill in the form online first. It took ages for a response. He also approached other banks, and they usually asked him to fill in the form online and wait for a response. Eventually he opened an account with Lloyds Bank after meeting them in person and providing the documents (passport, BRP card and address proof).
If your kid wants to open an account in the UK, please also check if they will charge you for such service.

我貪大新咭儲avios分幾快，同埋仔揀搭BA，但電話真係好講運氣，試過等兩個小時！平均都半小時左右。仲有好似只係星期一至五。
仔今年升y1, 但AL罼業之後暑假沒回來。所以入U的物品要在英國買。被、枕在online m & s ... 有張可分拆羽絨被（好似3.5 & 7.5tog) 幾好的。飯煲在argos (online買&supermkt pick up) 。小朋友夠18? 因為英國買刀、scissors... 要夠18。之前boarding school 時買scissors，終於要請師兄代購。帶定平安藥。（諗到其他再分享：）

我阿仔今年七月申請時，HSBC話要成人身份證攞到手先得，因為申請時要影印身份證
