The biggest difference is, Shatin Junior is next door to Shatin College, so your children will essentially be going to the same place for 13 years if they stay with ESF throughout their pre-tertiary education.

Beacon Hill on the other hand does not have an ESF secondary school right next to it so your children will feel a distinct change when they progress from primary to secondary.

Some people don't like the change, some people do.

你好，我都有同樣疑問呀。諗緊細校舍既BHS會比較有愛？定係入左SJS直接在同一個地上升學，有一班朋友會更適合呢？
但聽聞SJS比較有規矩，不知道BHS是否也一樣呢？
請問入咗BHS, 之後會升SC定KGV呢？

Allocation for secondary school will be by ‘associated secondary school’ and NOT determined by the residential address starting from 2021. Associated secondary school of BHS is IS.

So all students from BHS will go Island School no matter where they live?
According to the catchment zone of BHS, the students from  BHS live in  NT/Kowloon.
Island school is so far away for them

According to school notice, ‘yes’.
由於今年係第一年，家長仲可以㨂跟住址選校或讀直屬學校

如果讀緊BHS Yr5,原本跟地址可能係去STC/KGV
無啦啦要去IS真係頭都大

Actually by school zone, residential address assigned to BHS has now also been changed to under Island School, I guess in preparation for this associated secondary plans. Though, yes I guess this may be different from when the parents chose BHS in Year 1.

it seems that the catchment zone information on ESF website is not the most updated versioneg Students who live in Tw need to go Island School now instead of STC.

Island School (Secondary)

Discovery Bay (shared with West Island School)*, Mid Levels (including Kennedy Road west of the Hopewell Centre), Old Peak Road, Conduit Road, Robinson Road as far as Castle Road, some of Central District served by Glenealy School and the Peak. Tsing Yi Island. West Kowloon bordered by Ferry Street and Tong Mi Road to Lai Chi Kok Road, north of Boundary Street and west of Tai Po Road, extending west to Tuen Mun except for the area of Tsuen Wan that is part of Sha Tin College zone (see Sha Tin College).

Beacon Hill School (Primary)

The west side of Nathan Road from Tsim Sha Tsui to Boundary Street excluding areas south-west of Cherry Street and Ferry Street (except The Hermitage), the area north of Boundary Street, including Kowloon Tong and Caldecott Road. Extending westward along the Lung Cheung Highway including Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun.

Tsuen Wan (to the east of KCR West Rail) belonged to STC, others belonged to IS

I see, sorry, perhaps I was mistaken. I guess Tsuen Wan is the exception in this case.
That's very confusing though, so for those who live in Tsuen Wan, if they apply for a Year 7-12 place now they can still go to STC but if they are already in BHS they soon can't (apart from this year) and have to go to IS? Perhaps they will adjust the zones again soon. Tbh they can adjust the zones when they want anyway haha
