Congratulations to the class of 2021 on an incredible year of university offers during one of the most challenging years in university admissions. All 48 of our IB graduates have either received unconditional offers from leading universities or met the requirements of the conditional offers of their choice.

The average score of our 2021 cohort is 43.6 (out of a full score of 45).

Of our 48 students, 17 got a score of 45, 19 got a score of 44, and 4 got a score of 43.

75% of our students got a score of 44 or above, compared to the world’s 1.6%.

If your only concern is getting the title 狀元, then probably you are right.  Because IB adopts criteria referencing, while 5** in DSE is not, and DSE students taking 4+2X, even if receiving perfect scores, could never be counted as 狀元.
But I still don’t understand what the meaning of “higher” scores is when one comparing IB and DSE.  Let me ask again: would it make any difference (other than the number of 狀元) if every subject of every DSE student were upgraded by one grade, except those who are already 5**?

Ok ok, suddenly you stop using the best 10 students attending the top 10 schools but return to the old argument of comparing the percentage of DSE students vs that of IB students without adjusting the denominator of the former with reference to the difference in the composition of the two populations.  And so I probably have to repeat the argument of selective IB schools vs non-selective DSE schools.  Perhaps it’s time for me to leave this infinite loop.

You now return to the 狀元 argument and you still repeat your “higher scores” statement without defining “higher”.

Using an infinite loop is the best strategy to win an argument over the Internet, when the winner is defined to be the last one who remains in the loop.  No problem.  You win.  Congratulations and Ciao.

係下面討論帖, 我亦曾講過比 IB 更容易攞高分, 更易入世界各地名牌大學嘅國際認可課程 e.g. 加拿大 OSSD. 大家睇吓上面 HKU year 1 收生分數, 我列出咗 OSSD / IB / DSE / GCEAL 各科分數, 唯獨 OSSD 全部一個最低分數係90%, 可想而之呢個課程 "水份" 比 IB 更 "水" 吧 --- 70%校內功課 & 30%校內考試!

不斷講 IB 點樣容易攞高分. 網友不妨用自己小孩驗證考插班試考有 IB 課程嘅國際學校 / 直資 / 私校. IB 今年出產好多狀元嘅直資係幾間百年傳統老牌 "神校"/ "名校" e.g. SPCC, DBS . 想考入呢啲 "神"/ "名" 直資小學 or 中學絕對不容易. 如果考國際學校 e.g. ESF 又要放底幾千銀考試費去考插班

網友不斷窮追猛打 IB 課程, 個人極力推薦不如額外俾啲錢自己小朋友係香港另外兼讀加拿大 OSSD 亦係一個非常不錯嘅另一途徑以 Non Jupas 考入香港嘅大學，用OSSD 考HKU 最好每科最少要有90%-100%先至考得入


話時話，呢個課程係 HKU 眼中水份含量好高及幾“水”吓，所有科要求最低收生分數一律90%，我見今年HKU 出咗1個 conditional offer 喺要 95%

IB 得到大學認可什至等同大學某啲 year 1科目程度可以申請 credit transfer / advanced standing , 即係大學 year 1課程好容易等於IB 中學課程程度??? 抑或是 IB 課程程度等於大學 year 1 課程咁深? (IB 課程要讀 3 科 HL)

想請教, 點解大學 IB 課程 可以credit transfer (其實有啲 大學 GCEAL 都有 credit transfer), 但為何 DSE 無呢? OSSD 亦無 credit transfer 的

我暫時未見到 DSE 可以有 credit transfer, 如你搵到可以同大家分享.

曾幾何時，以前啲人覺得讀唔掂，就轉去國際學校，但係而家講到，讀國際學校IB課程係一條捷徑，好大機會入讀香港大學神科，對家長來講梗係想攞多啲料啦！仲話用2年時間就得，高興唔高興，就算自己唔食都想個小朋友用捷徑入神科啦！所以請黃生分享策略及部署!

為何DSE無credit transfer?

等我知少少扮…

DSE其實唔等同以前HKAL，只係會考加一半AL（7年中學改6年），部份AL課程既不包括在DSE，就有需要加入在大學year 1課程，如果IB或AL已cover，當然唔一定要重複喇！

聽講有學生可以以AL成績直入year 2！

原來, 科大 IB 都可以 credit transfer

HKUST Transfer Credit by Examination https://crtran.ust.hk/credit_exam?asOfTermCode=2110&testID=IBDIP
1.This Database covers the approved mappings for transfer credits granted on entry based on pre-tertiary qualifications / examinations.

2.Students should use the Database, which will be updated from time to time, as a reference only.

3.There may be restrictions (or exclusions) on transfer to HKUST courses (e.g. students may only apply for credit transfer to MATH1013 OR MATH1020, but not both; Business & Management students may not apply for credit transfer to SOSC1440, COMP1001, MATH2411, etc.) hence students may not be eligible to apply credit transfer for all mapping courses in the Database. For details, please consult respective academic advisors.

4.There are some cases that credit transfer may be applied from one particular subject attainment to more than one HKUST equivalent courses (e.g. PHYS1111 AND PHYS1113).

5.There are some cases that students need to choose to apply credit transfer to only one particular HKUST equivalent course among a number of courses (e.g. HUMA1410 OR HUMA1440); and students may want to consult their academic advisors before submitting the applications.
