Thanks for your sharing. I totally agree with U about the first half.
In terms of the applications for Universities. I admit the alumni resources could be a strength or rich connections for the students career in a long-term. But I don't think the external resources such as the alumni or the school teachers would help too much for admissions in a University. Why I am saying that because the most important thing for the admissions in Universities is the kids' performance themselves. No one could help them. They should have earned the abilities of independent, life-long learning skills instead of depending on the external trivial factors.
School Teachers' abilities, experiences are the most important thing in an IS school instead of a swimming pool or a playground. The admissions quotas of the great/excellent IS in Hong Kong are too limited. For those who are applying for the IS schools having great and advanced facilities and excellent teachers, first, you need to be lucky enough that the school will have an available seat for you kid, then work hard to make more money. Work harder, if you have more than three kids.
