我小朋友下年才中學，未有好詳細諗去边？

只是不想太早走，有點不捨得。

如果本身巳在IS的又不一定要太早走，除非小朋友自己想，因為佢地一般在語言文化方面會較容易適應出國，我身邊IS的通常最早Y9先走，都係去top boarding ，有D考完IGCSE先走。
我有IS的朋友大女Y9走了，細女反而留港考IB, 因為佢話細女性格易學壞要佢留在身邊，所以在IS比較有彈性可看情況再決定。

香港讀IS仲平d，UK Boarding 起碼40萬一年，都係一個考慮

朋友英國大學教授個仔讀普通state school，佢話師資/學生質素/軟硬件各個方面同esf都無得比，uk教師薪資水平較hk IS低，亦留唔到高水準教師，從esf轉至uk讀「津校」，落差會幾大。

香港is 同英國state school 完全兩回事，state school 冇多餘錢去support 學習，師資我自己覺得一般，學校偏向請NQT (newly qualified teacher)... 雖然唔係話NQT唔好，不過因為state school 要計住budget, 軟硬件真係差啲，想請既老師，想做嘅project都畀唔起錢

Boarding school 我覺得還可以，我以前個間會額外請出面更有經驗人士幫手補習(如考中文)... 當然另付出錢啦

Grammar school 正如樓上講，要考試入學，成績有一定水平

不過每人定義學校好唔好都唔一樣，我自己認為仲要睇area, 因為關乎學習環境同風氣。始終去到英國我哋係「小衆」, 我反而會對同學質素關心啲，怕有歧視問題

For many parents, navigating the UK education system is a challenge, and finding the answer to the question of private school vs. grammar school is not easy. There are three types of secondary schools to choose from: comprehensive (or state) schools, private (or independent) schools, and grammar schools.

Comprehensive and grammar schools are both free, whereas you have to pay tuition fees for private schools. However, grammar and private schools are actually very similar in that they both select pupils based on academic ability. In contrast, comprehensive schools can only take students from a particular catchment area.

Unsurprisingly, therefore, private and grammar schools are popular with parents who want their child to excel; both have a strong emphasis on academic achievement and secure excellent results year on year.

In 2017, 97% of students at St Paul’s Girls’ School, Westminster School and Eton College (all private schools) achieved A* and As in their GCSE exams. Similarly, 90% of students at Henrietta Barnett School, Tiffin Girls’ School and Reading School (all grammar schools) achieved A* or A grades at A-level.

However, there are many other factors to consider when choosing a school other than results, and so it is important to weigh up everything that private and grammar schools have to offer.

State school 咁多間，有長有短好正常...
親戚孩子97前後到英，普通state school(倫敦一小時車程左右)亦非grammar school, 最後劍橋畢業。可以付擔私校當然理想...但計一計一年私校費用就等於3年當地人大學學費總和...

一定會有好嘅，不過比率底，要住區份靚，房價自然貴，多人排隊入，本地人都清楚呢點，世界大同。

如想轉考A level 可考慮早些過去

其實唔特別覺得香港lS 會比英國私校差，就算早D出國都係因為想小朋友早啲獨立，適應當地生活文化，見吓世面，唔會係為咗學業成績。

會選升讀大學時出國，親子關係第一位，我又好滿意香港的IB教育，除非孩子個人意願強烈，我是不會為「更易升入top U」而送佢獨自去英國讀私校。

其實我覺得都要視乎你喺邊一間國際學校，同埋去英國嘅邊一間公立學校。

噉如果你喺香港嗰間國際學校課程係唔錯嘅話。實在好難直接同英國嘅學校直接比較。

阿女而家英國間學校啲學生個個其實都好勤力讀書。而且佢哋都好有競爭力。測驗一定有一早溫好書。亦會比較大家嘅分數。

至於有人話grammar school 插班比較難，我都同意。由9月到而家，佢果班祇有一個學生退學。佢果位就由waiting list 補上。有幸補上個女仔仲開心到飛起！

呢度嘅所有家長都好精英！佢哋嘅仔女入嘅學校都好勁！我相信如果肯付出努力，學業係會進步不斷！你地既成功就係我既啓發！

我識得不同IS轉去外國的，大多Y9去，有些考埋IGCSE才去，都銜接到。
Y7去boarding 好細個，才local school小六，其實boarding school呢樣野是英國百年前產物，當時唔興親子，有錢人的小朋友都係搵人教，於是細細個send去boarding比人教。而家除非小朋友自己好想（好多時跟同學，佢地有得同friend玩實開心），否則Y9未遲，玩一年，就準備IGCSE了。

我細嗰個而家都讀緊國際學校，British curriculum. 其實點樣先知學校教的野係合符程度？

我打算佢high school時會出國讀書，唔一定限於英國，但就要早幾年去讀，適應下當地文化及生活先再上大學。

但係大嗰個讀緊本地高小，都諗緊幾時送佢出國唸書。
