A message from Sadie Visick, Managing Director

I am writing to you to announce the cancellation of the May/June 2021 exams, and confirm that OxfordAQA students will receive Teacher Assessed Grades, in line with students in England.

We have taken this difficult decision in order to end the uncertainty following the recent announcement of the cancellation of exams in England by the UK Government. As you know, OxfordAQA’s international GCSE and A-level exams are benchmarked to UK standards, and maintaining fairness and consistency in the grades provided to all students, in all countries around the world, is a priority for us.

Regrettably, it has become clear that it will not be possible for exams to be held everywhere in May/June 2021, because of the continued impact of the coronavirus.

For 2021, we’re also expanding our special considerations process for students who for good reason miss some components they were entered for. As long as these students have taken at least one assessment component, they can receive a grade. This is a temporary measure in response to the pandemic. We will say more about this next week.

For the small number of countries (such as Mexico and the UK) and regions within countries where running exams is not possible because of directives from national or regional authorities, we are looking at switching from exams to an approach based on teacher assessment. This would apply to all schools in those countries and regions. We will provide a further update next week.

英國有好幾個考評局，大多數喺二月中前已經宣佈取消今年嘅公開試（包括英國本土的GCSE & AL)，學生分數=老師評分+ 拉 curve (?) 。但唯獨CIE(Cambridge Assessment International Exam) 佢今個星期先宣布: 今年大部分地區係如常考試。而好多香港學生係考 CIE 嘅 IGCSE/ IAL

我女有一科IGCSE Computer science 是CAIE , 昨晚老師通知取消了。

CAIE 只取消英國，海外沒有取消。

Yes, CIE announcement 係話其他地方六月繼續考試
囡香港學校也出咗 email “external Cambridge IGCSE exams are going ahead “

之前其他 boards 話所有試取消，我果時估 CIE 都會... 咁依家有d地區考，有d地區又冇得考...出嘅 grades 好難比較
