For example, The University of Warwick has very clear DSE intake requirements:
Hong Kong (SAR)Warwick IFP: Form 5 - Achieve an average of at least 70% overall across your core units. Maths and one Science based subject at 75% required for some courses Undergraduate: Students taking three elective in the HKDSEs Level 5 in three electives with no less than 3 in any other subject except Chinese. Students taking two electives in the HKDSE Level 5 in both electives plus Level 5 in two cores (excluding Chinese), and no less than 3 in any other subject except Chinese. For courses requiring Maths A level (all applicants with HKDSE qualification) Level 5 in 3 subjects (or 5* 5 5 depending on normal A level requirements) which must include Maths Extended Component (M1 or M2), and two further elective subjects; and no less than 3 in any other subject except Chinese.
