本身讀國際學校，但宜家打算bno移居uk讀當地state school?

我都有同樣問題，喺香港讀緊IS小班教學（1班20人左右）,讀IB課程～咁如諗住用BNO身份去是否都係一定要讀私校？就算係outstanding既質素都爭好遠？ boarding又貴一截，好傷腦筋～

Yes I worked in CW for 5-6 years when I was young and stay close to my office.  I never go anywhere like ASDA after the cross harbour DLR.  I heard from my ex colleague the situation improved w lots of new built around the area and mostly residential.  But considering coming back w kids that’s definitely seems not a good place unless there’s good private school.  I will reconsider moving to either Greenwich and Stratford or all the way west but better on Jubilee line as I still need a job.

And sorry haven’t replied on the age.  I have two kids one is 7 yrs old girl and one is a boy turning 3.  Both are in local schools in HK.  So may need a bit fine tune before they are going.

Seems like a good age, one can prep for reception, one for secondary school. U can also look at Canada water, the rent there is still below market value, u can rent a family home there with good price, a 2 bedroom under £1500 is feasible.
Just font look at the block right next to Canada Station, that one is super expensive, try look at Rotherhithe, it's quite nice, walking distance to station. It's under Southwark council.

Year 6 開學考， year 8 插班要睇返個別學校，its called "in year admission"


如果過去year 6 唔考試，一樣可以揀其他學校

不過插班一定會比較難，要有人走先會有位，有waiting list 可以排，如果趕唔切時間，也可一試

Year 6 開學考 Sept(will move to oct this year due to covid 19)


But if you are thinking about sept this year, it is too late now, u have to first register , with a uk address, the deadline was July this year for sept exam this year.


You can however, go to uk and ask council to give you a school place for year 6 now and maybe try late application. If u go now, u can still join the uk kids this Oct for the secondary school national offer (march).


If you apply late, there is something called late application, you can take the exam late, however, u will be allocated the school after the national offer day I believe.


You need to go to the council to check the key dates and the latest update.



The above is based in Kent region only, I am not sure about other regions, however u can go to their councils' web site, search "secondary school admission" page, everything will be there, it can be quite different from region to region, especially this year with Covid 19, things can be very different.

yes u can only have one address.






還是到時只要有個UK address做通訊address就得呢?

Although your intention is not an address fraud, however, they will only look at the fact that if u and your kid are really living in this address at the time u are applying for school. They won't care too much about why you don't have an address yet. They will probably ask u to sort out your home address yourself.

U have to be caution.


Maybe your relatives can let u really live in their house for some time? Is that a possibility? Are they ok with it?

改地址 is very easy, u can do that online or by email to the council,

just login and click "change your address", no problem. or email them to explain and ask them to update on their database
