My son is 4 years old. Since this is our first child, we don't have much ideas of child education and have cast the net when applying school for my son. Luckily, my son received offer for admission to reception class (equivalent to K2 in HK local system) from various international/private schools starting from next school year. We have already crossed out some of them mainly based on impression we got from talking to the teachers or admission people at the school tour and negative comments we have seen in public online forums. Now we have come to point of making a final choice among the shortlisted schools: Malvern vs AISHK (Aus) vs ICS - we see good comments on these schools so far. We understand that these schools are very different in terms of curriculum (UK vs Aus vs US) and college entrance examinations (IB/HSC/AP) but i don't think it matters much for now as i see these schools did have student placements into good universities in UK, US and Australia - these are the most common places for university study.  My key considerations are level of academic rigor, positive character development and overall active learning spirit.
So I'd like to make a poll here to seek your preference among Malvern vs AISHK vs ICS - you can just simply put down the one you think better (of course a simple reason would be much appreciated).  Thank you!

Your son is a smart boy.  Whatever school he goes to he will do fine.   Just follow your heart

Have you attended the school tour of these schools? Just pick the one you and your son like. You can switch later on if you find it not suitable.

yes I have attended school tour of all these schools and did the shortlisting - they are close in terms of scoring based on my own experience though.

Seems track record is reliable.

I roughly remember the staff mentioned during the ICS school tour that there are over 70 percent HK permanent resident students? They did mention most of their foreign students are students of the teachers or missionary team.

Sent u PM for more info

ICS operates as a PIS (private independent school) in hk to my knowledge, which has a different passport ratio requirement, perhaps some current parents can clarify more?

ICS has only 30% foreign passport at most. Really didn’t see any foreigner students in the school tour. Most of my friends study there are hk permanent residents without passport. No priority for foreign passport holder.
Malvern is a new IS. It is more strict in keeping 70% foreign passport students.
