睇到呢度我好震驚！點解你自己英文程度唔高但係質疑教科書D英文？點解你會覺得自己既英文會好過老師or教科書？我好shock！我唔止中5程度中、英文，但我好少質疑老師既教材。

但問題係，如果想教得深入仔細，一般係要英文好好既人或native，但樓主話佢得S5程度都敢challenge，佢都好有勇氣。唔知係咪佢humble而已。

唔計大學，12 年讀書，我只係中二駁過一次，嗰次我係好有把握先咁做，否則我一定係跟老師。人地食鹽多過我食米，唔係第一日教書。老師咁教實有佢原因。


Btw，唔少初中已知 see/watch movie 分別，叻啲嘅，小學都已經分到，唔洗 S5 咁高

唔係知道分別，要識得解釋人聽係唔同層次。識用同識教好唔一樣，所以好老師先咁難搵呀嘛。你咪講得好清楚囉。

see a movie 係真係要“行”去個戲院，watch a movie 就真係靜止欣賞，所以會講 We are going to see a movie at the cinema 同 We are watching a movie in the cinema.

係小朋友未掌握到呢啲細節位之前，用 watch 係最安全同 almost 永遠正確。

我無質疑教科書D英文喎。我只係話教科書内容有局限性。咁呢樣無可厚非，始終佢係針對普遍學生寫的。但我覺得係應用層面可多D彈性咁解。

例如早兩日又遇到書教 in the playground，但有本練習答案係 on the playground。咁係in定on呢，定at都得呢？呢D位我唔會一刀切話跟書in the playground，反而我會視為好機會同佢解釋唔同場景用法。


我上英文堂到中五係事實，但我自己經驗而言, 學語言要有突破好多時唔係靠課堂。

我問小朋友"see" vs "watch"分別，佢都話I want to see a movie (佢未睇過打算「去」睇。如果喺戲院內佢會答I'm watching this...。個分別就係「去睇」vs 「睇」(已坐低和睇)。我剛剛又問隔離2位英國人同事，佢地確認我嘅理解係正確。所以有時問細路仔 (如佢地自小自然地接觸英文 (聽講讀)唔似我呢d港式grammar教育長大嘅，反而毫無懸念。我自問讀左好多年書，都係上大學之後先敢講英文，出來工作先覺得自己識英文。

所以有朋友問我你英文咁好 (佢地覺得工作用英文就係好勁架喇) 點解我唔自己教呀女英文，要搵個NET教writing?

我就係唔想用港式grammar教學去教個女，我想佢係真正get到english usage而唔係要用港式文法去「解釋」番個用法。

關於prepositions 呀女自然地get到點用，好少用錯也不用去「解釋」，反而tense會亂(因為未學過，而睇書係present tense and past tense都有，口語perfect tense 就好少錯)。

網上都容易找到用法

如果話"watch" - usually sth that you look at for a period of time, 咁"look"本身都可以咁用。例如我個junior寫左份野俾我review, 我唔得閒即時睇, 我會答佢"I'll look/ have a look at this first thing tomorrow morning..."睇完佢份野我又會答佢:"I had a look through...."
其實"look"都可以用好多時間。 仲有look into sth more detailed/ looking into it in detail, looking for details...呢..用時間長短未必分到"watch" vs "look"

cambridge dictionary個website講我覺得有根據啲，唔係質疑你，但有時外籍人士都有機會錯grammar。。。至於下面imdb個list，其實係網友自設，寫錯標題都唔出奇。

我讀得書少，所以我唔會推斷邊個啱與錯

I am watching a movie in the cinema。 個present continuous tense係重點。即已强調專注睇(over a period of time) 呢個動作。而一般唔會單獨咁一句, 好可能有另一D事發生令你強調當時你正在看電影。

所以有網友話"watch" 係look at sth for a period of time, in general係合理, 即係我講強調坐定定去睇TV programmes/ sports games/ movies...一樣, 一定係last for一段時間, 不限場地, 也不限tense (如果係強調某段時間睇, 但如果係答有冇睇過會用seen。

不過for a period of time又不限於Watch, "look"也可以，所以english usage好難用一兩句去概括解釋。

Context 問題。see 同 watch 都可以用，非常肯定係可以用 watch a movie。Cambridge 嘅 examples 並沒有 “watch a movie in the cinema” 呢個組合，只係 I really want to see the new Rocky movie。
例子：

A: Want to see Frozen 2 this weekend?
B: Why don't we do it at home?
A: Don't you want to watch it in the cinema?

呢度係強調地點。

報導/名人 interview 例句：

"Of course, you do. Actors are fans as well. Going to watch Pet Sematary at the cinema really reminded me of how little I do that now — watch movies in the cinema — and I really enjoyed them as an audience member."

This percentage was lower than the 32 per cent of respondents who said that they preferred to watch movies in the cinema.

Cambridge 所提及嘅「長時間觀看」亦正確。樓主遇到嘅題目應該係配對活動同地點，例如 buy food in the supermarket, read books in the library，如果佢用 see a movie in the cinema，當中 see a movie 已經包括去戲院呢個元素，唔會需要再提，否則就好累贅（正如你唔會講 I cook some noodles "in the kitchen"、I take a bath “in the bathroom”）。用 watch 則適合，尤其地點係重點。

We can go see the movie, or just stay at home and watch it on Netflix. But I would say watching movies in the cinema is a different experience from watching it at home.

Google Ngram 亦有數據，2000s 年代 watch a movie 呢個組合使用率 0.0000140%，see a movie 0.0000160%。使用率冇差好遠。

家長要考慮下，不要因小失大。

見網上分享成日有人投訴，話老師改卷點樣唔合理。。。 我唔會為拗還有D 咩EXCEPTIONS， 而在細路面前唔覺意貶低老師權威，因為咁樣實係用石頭掉自己既腳。
