Hi yettalam, thanks a lot for your very useful information. I am very much surprised by the responses of many parents who don't think it's a problem at all, using so many "reasons" (e.g. private school can do anything they like and so you even don't have the right to complain or say a thing; your case is only a particular case as her kid has different arrangement and get admitted and thus what you said is wrong and she is right; it's no problem at all for arrangement with kids from Manhabit even if it is totally secret and unannounced and the schools are more like family business, ....)
For me your information means that for many kids applying CKY this year, it is just a lucky draw. The school even do not care what is an interview. .... For me, this reason is enough for me of not applying this school.
Luckily, I did not apply this school for my kid in this year, otherwise I will just waste my time and $400.
Frankly speaking, for many of the DSS/private school interviews, due to so many applicants (4k-7k), I doubt very much the chance of getting admitted. Only those strongly trained kids could be admitted (but for many cases, as interview is very brief, I also doubt if such interview works). For CKY, from yettalam experience, the story is different: even those strongly trained kids could not be admitted as the school consider reasons other than interview performance. Therefore, I don't participate in this game which waste the valuable time for both the kids and parents. For me, I will choose a school that really want to nurture kids and actually so many local schools fall into this category.
