你意思係咪嗰十幾間 Junior College? 嗰十幾間係政府的，不是Independent

「你，繼續深造還是去工作？」
「嗯，我決定繼續讀大學。」
待在自己的舒適區里，本想從TP直接畢業走上工作的道路，選擇了自己擅長的電子專業。畢竟已出國留學，為何不更進一步？


淡馬錫理工學院 Temasek Polytechnic (TP)
迷茫之下，新加坡教育網 http://www.iedusg.com/ 的老師為我出謀劃策，建議我選擇理工學院新加坡大學這條路徑，看能不能找到一個喜歡並且在自己能力承受範圍內的公立大學專業，這樣未來多一些選擇方向。
我重新打起精神，去各種論壇、校園網上搜索信息，當看到NUS的電子電氣與NTU的電子電氣工程專業時，我的目光一下子被吸引住了。
我把握住在TP剩餘的時間，泡在自習室里沒日沒夜地學習，還報了一個輔導機構補習英語，功夫不負有心人，最後我拿到了這個進修機會。
前期「勘探」
專業、位置、排名……
——從專業方面來看
因為我在TP學的是電子專業，自己的興趣愛好是第一齣發點：
SUTD：工程產品研發 NUS：電子電氣（EE） NTU：電子電氣工程（EEE）
NUS的EE和NTU的EEE都是這兩所學校非常好的專業，而NTU的EEE更是學校的第一大系，在QS上排名前三。


根據對這兩個學校課程的介紹，和學長學姐以及老師給出的信息我了解到，NUS會比較注重理論知識的理解，而NTU更著重於動手實踐能力。
——從地理位置，學校設施來看
從地理位置，學校設施來看，這三所學校都有自己的學生宿舍。
SUTD靠近東邊expo，相較於另外兩所學校，SUTD的地理位置更為便利，學校出來就有地鐵站，出行會很快捷。並且因為是一所較為年輕的學校，所以教學設施和宿舍會比較新。


新加坡國立大學
National University of Singapore
NUS就不需要多說，亞洲排名第一大學，NTU也是僅次於NUS，去年排名超過了NUS。
「所以這一點上NTU、NUS對我來說其實差不多……
開始面試
選擇、選擇、再選擇……
2017年12月，我收到了第一份全額獎學金錄取……
——最早的一封，來自SUTD
SUTD面試時間較早，我於2018年5月畢業，在2017年12月份就收到了SUTD的全額獎學金錄取。
SUTD全面開放對TP學生的申報時間是每年1月至3月，成績優異最早11月左右就能收到面試通知。

而NTU和NUS這兩所學校報名時間較晚，NTU和NUS2018年是2月1日-2月21日（通常在2月上旬），而SUTD三月初就要求我做出選擇。
所以當時我就將SUTD作為了保底學校，接受了他的offer。
而NUS和NTU我在2月份也進行了申報，然後開始了漫長的等待時間。
——專業的抉擇
在這個期間我還改過NUS的第一志願，因為我對生物也很感興趣，所以當時NUS放的第一志願是生物科學，NTU放的EEE。
但之後去參考了就業率和老師的意見發現，生物科學本科畢業就業率低，所以畢業還需要繼續深造，就業面積也會比較受限。在不太確定未來的前提下，我把專業改成了就業率高，就業面積較廣的EE。
所以這邊提醒大家一定要在申報之前確定好自己的專業，更改專業需要很多步驟和更長的等待時間。
「之後3月我也去NUS，NTU參加了面試。在2018年5月之前我陸續收到NUS，NTU的offer……
確認過的眼神
我是NTU的人
時間到了2018年5月……
5月底是最後的確認offer的時間，我需要在3所學校之間做出最後的選擇：
SUTD：教育理念很吸引我，而且全額獎學金也可以減輕一些經濟上的負擔。 NUS和NTU：在國際上的名聲和排名和雄厚的師資力量也讓我不得不慎重考慮。
——最終的決定因素：國際排名
因為之後不確定是否留在新加坡，所以我考慮到國際排名。
如果之後需要去其他國家深造，NUS和NTU的國際排名都會更勝一籌，所以我忍痛放棄了SUTD。
之前提到的NTU會側重實踐能力，和TP的教學模式會更相近。在對於兩所學校課程體系結構安排對比之後，我更偏向於NTU。

我的觀察
想進入大學，選擇JC還是Poly
在新加坡，初中結束之後一般有兩條升學途徑：
初級學院（JC）和理工學院（Poly）。
我的母校淡馬錫理工學院即屬於理工學院範疇。
記得當初準備留學新加坡時，很多同學（包括我），都在猶豫：
究竟選擇哪一種途徑才對未來的發展更好呢？
JC：相當於國內的高中階段。學生在4-5年的課程結束之後參加劍橋O水準考試，成績優異的學生，可以升入初級學院繼續學習。學習兩年之後參加A水準考試，憑藉成績申請新加坡大學。
Poly：相當於國內的大專，但因為教育體制的因素，本質上比國內大專更加優秀。在新加坡，理工學院是最廣泛的綜合性學院，為各領域培養專業的人才，強調多元化課程，實用性。在理工學院，你可以找到科學、工程、IT、商科以及各種新興專業。
——究竟如何選擇，各方態度常常意見相左
JC支持者的論據：
相對於理工學院的學生來說，初級學院的課程更加貼近大學的課程，在升入大學之後能夠更好的適應大學的課程，不必吃力，而理工學院的學生相對就較為吃虧。


相對來說，在初級學院就讀基礎更加牢靠，而且一般情況下成績優秀的學生更傾向於選擇初級學院，所以初級學院的學習環境和生源質量都相對較好。
Poly支持者的論據：（這也是我的個人觀點）
很多在初級學院就讀的學生表示，JC的升學競爭力很高，需要儘快準備好迎接A水準考試，並且各個科目需要達到A，才能保持競爭力。
而在理工學院，只要你保持優秀的GPA就能夠申請大學，對於語言水平相對有差距的國際學生來說，理工學院是最好的選擇。

新加坡理工學院Singapore Polytechnic
理工學院學生申請進入公立大學的途徑：
通常在二年級時，各系的優秀生可申請至新加坡公立大學，通常可進入大二開始學習學士學位課程。
不僅如此，一些理工學院的專業還和歐美知名大學聯辦學位課程（比如我的母校淡馬錫理工學院的智能建築專業），學生在理工學院修完三年後，赴歐美讀一年獲學士學位，讀二年獲碩士學位。

值得一提的是，政府理工學院學生畢業後，憑藉在新加坡三年工作經歷即可申請大英國協國家所有名牌大學，修讀一年就可獲得碩士學位。
以我的經驗，如果你是私立學校的O水準國際考生，理工學院相對比較好申請（特別是工程和計算機專業），不僅如此，將來升大學也更有競爭力。
「當然，不論是JC還是Poly，最終還是要看自己，只要足夠努力，這兩條路殊途同歸。

我的TP三年，致您三點建議
2015年10月—2018年5月，我的TP三年……
TP的三年，說長，它長，說短，它也短。三年還歷歷在目，轉眼又即將邁入新的征程。

在讀TP的時候我也深深感受到新加坡和中國教育體系的不同。要想在TP取得好成績，我認為以下幾個點很重要：
point 1
上課認真聽。不管難易，一定要跟著老師來。
point 2
TP算分系統，期末考試40%，期中加小考加實驗60%。平時分很重，也就是說在任何一次小考的時候我們都不能鬆懈。
point 3
課後的自主學習也很重要。不會的題目，自己可以細心鑽研，一定要多學勤思。

如今讓我回望將近一年申請的「艱辛歲月」
只得四字：
妙不可言！
