Hi! I am now teaching soem SEN students and also have degree in certain aspects, I think i can answer some of your questions. I can actually type in Chinese but in much lower speed. Hope you don't mind my writing in English.
i highly recommend your child to have checkings, which may provide you with lots of information on your child. This helps you to make wiser decisions on how to help him. Mnay SENs goes together, which means your child may have ASD (亞氏保加) and other special needs such as ADHD, OSD and etc. Hope I don;t offend you. But I think you need to trust the modern science. You are right that there are psychology does not have cures despite of years of development, but it is due to the complexity of mind. It is very hard to understand ones' thinking and understand the human brain structure, which psychology aims to do. It is well recognized as a profesion and every schools now have education psychologies to support the students. I think you need to trust them.
It is hard to define normal and abnormal, as you say everyone has something they are rigid. But you can observe the intensity of undeservable behavior (things that trouble you like difficulty packing things, following rules), and you know what abnormal is. Another measurement is the period of time, 'is the behavior persist a long time'. In every kinds of SENs, they have certsin descriptions. If you fall into mist descriptions, you can be quite certain that you have that kind of SENs. So, I think the validity of psychology is very well stand.
And I want to tell you some aspects of 亞氏保加 (you may get a mosre precise one on the internet), which are 1. higher than normal intelligence, 2. deficit in excutive function (planning and doing things). 3. rigid behavior (like doing things the same way, hate changes), 4. special interest in a particular thing (eg. rotating objects, map, numbers, etc), 5. dificulty understanding others' emotion (happy, sad, sorrow...), 6. unappropriate behavior playing with toys (use a doll to hit a hammer, rather than a hammer to hit a doll...), 7. difficulty expressing themserves.
Hope you understand what I mean, since I am typing in a hurry,
You may reply in Chinese if you like. And hope this may help you.
