以一個偏向理科的學生而言，Eng Language A SL應揀ENG Lit 定ENG Lang & Lit好?

lit 是讀好多本書，我個選lang & lit, 多D不同形式文章，有人話讀law要選lit, 可以参考上年書單

阿仔同我講話lit要讀好多書，考試是分析及評論為主；而Lang & lit會包含語文運用及創作。

IBO website: lang & lit:

The course is organized into four parts, each focused on the study of either literary or non-literary texts. Together, the four parts of the course allow the student to explore the language A in question through its cultural development and use, its media forms and functions, and its literature. Students develop skills of literary and textual analysis, and also the ability to present their ideas effectively. A key aim is the development of critical literacy.

Together, the four parts of the course add up to a comprehensive exploration of literature from a variety of cultures, genres and periods. 疑惑在像他這樣一個理性分析人，咁咪適合讀以評論分析為主的Eng lit囉？
另外見他做功課撰寫廣告文案，好似難過寫評論。

If Eng lang A is a must, one must take lit - be it all lit or lang & lit

是的，學校只提供Eng A; 不過一般來說，大部分同學都是選lit & lang 。

好看個人。應該問老師和孩子。

阿女讀 Lit HL 但佢話不太難，因為佢擅長寫評論文，一段詩寫四板評論。我就覺好難。

我仔當年讀Eng Lit A HL, 佢另外两科HL 係Physics和Math, 好明顯佢都係理科生.
佢係回流既ABC, 再加上自幼閱讀大量課外書籍, 英文底子紥實. 當年是老師揀他讀Eng Lit的.
但我到好後期才知道原來來自英國的老師在一整班成近30個學生中, 只揀了两人讀Eng Lit HL, 两人都是ABC, 两人都是自幼養成閱讀習慣.
所以我感覺上, 讀Eng Lit, 除了英文底子較佳, 喜愛閱讀的更為適合.

我其實是矇查查的, 我一直都以為個仔係讀Eng & Lit, 直到考IB試, 我至知佢原來讀Eng Lit, 亦是那時候才知道全班只2人讀Eng Lit HL. 我記得開學時派咗張紙叫學生選科, 記憶中阿仔係揀咗Eng & Lit, 但我跟住就甩手唔理, 佢轉咗讀Eng Lit我完全唔知.

答番正題, 應該係學生自己揀完科後, 老師俾意見. 有無其他報咗Eng Lit, 又聽咗老師意見轉返做Eng & Lit, 我唔知.

正確, 而且IB Eng Lit 比AP Eng Lit 還要難讀!

1) 要看阿仔意願..

2) 如果他不願意, 修English A: Lang & Lit SL 也可以, 光修Lit 實在要花很多時間看書! 而且你兒子學校學生考English A: Lang & Lit SL 比較理想, 參考:

3) 另一因素要考慮是我記得妳有提及過兒子想到美國留學, 如果他認為考 English A: Lang & Lit SL 比較理想、GPA和學校名次比較高(比較好的學校還會考慮這些因素!), 確實可以增加報讀心儀大學機會。

4) 不用修讀English A: Literature SL, 可以抽出其他時間考好3科他喜愛的HL科目、SAT、ACT、如可以的考埋SAT Subject Tests (部份美國大學會要求學生考 SAT Subject Tests, 如能應付三科HL, 考這些考試沒有問題, 放心, 比HL淺易)。

5) 美國大學推行博雅教育, 所以他考上美國大學以後, Eng Lit 有可能必須要修6學分, 所以他要修讀Eng Lit 也是遲早的事情。
