My child got hillside K1 this year.
She speaks fluent English as this is almost the only language we speak with her since her birth. She attended hillside playgroup for a year before the play visit, which apparently helped a lot in terms of the child being familiar with that environment and could act like her normal self during the assessment.
From what I saw from the play visit, the teachers would talk to each of them independently and see how the kids respond. I guess as long as they have reasonable response to the teachers, ie. say yes/no, do simple things requested by teachers, they will be fine.
But then everything boils down to having a good random number, so that you would be able to get a place at the play visit.
Good luck. |
