My 3-yr old boy is now in Small World and we are told it’s pretty sure that he can get a place at IslandCA one year later. He’s happy at Small World now and I guess IslandCA is a good school. I like IslandCA more than NAIS because IslandCA teaches traditional Chinese ( just confirmed with them during the school tour). The only downside is its small campus.

Having said that, NAIS is through-train, obviously got more resources ( higher school fees as well) and more academic initiatives like collaboration with MIT and Julliard ...

We got an offer of NAIS nursery starting this August. Have to confirm to accept it not later than next week.

In term of teaching a kid to be kind/ responsible/ curious about learning, , which school is better
? Would IslandCA be more suitable if I want my kid to grow in a more “ grassroot” but not a  too “luxurious” environment? TIA !

What do you mean? But generally speaking ICA is more down to earth than NAIS.

What makes you say that? Any real example for your comment?

回覆樓主

Ica with Christianity background , may be more nurturing of kindness. As u also said, u prefer traditional Chinese character learning, that’s another point for ICA

Just my friend from NAIS told me, she said the family there are really well off, not in a negative  ...
I see your point...actually families choosing IS are already much more well-off than most others in HK... I guess being humble is sth that needs to be taught at home.

I heard good things about ICA from my friends who send their kids there.

I think both schools are good.  I think you should take a school tour, talk to the principal, teachers, see if the children are happy there and if they like their teachers.  There is no perfect school but you can find the most suitable one for your kid.

What makes you choose NAIS finally after the school tour?

Teachers from both schools are seemed to be caring and professional, just that NAIS is through-train which is sth hard to reject ..... and although NAIS is  “commercial” in some sense, it does not give me that feeling, they have initiatives to encourage kids to do community services, they promote equality among all kinds of people and genders. All these outweigh the consideration of NAIS teaching simplified Chinese.  (I want my kid to learn traditional).
