As esf is non-selective, they won't pick the best to give offer. Those with better random number (pure luck) will get offer first if they pass the assessment (play visit). Say u are at # 180, only 150 places available. TY usually interview everyone, say ur child pass, 20 kids before u (#1-179) failed, but as u are at #180, u would still be put on waitlist (180-150-20, waitlist #10). they don't share your random # with u, but based on previous years experience, the eariler your playvisit, the better your random#. not everyone will take the offer, so once places become available, they will call the waitlist. please also note that every esf kinders work differently, hillside don't interview all kids.
