膺QS亞洲十強 3大各有短板

港大中大論文生產力不入首百位  科大師生比遜色列亞洲八十四


國際高等教育資訊機構Quacquarelli Symonds（QS）昨日公佈「2019亞洲大學排名」，香港共有3間大學位列十強。與去年比較，港大中大排名均有所進步，但去年第三的科大今年則跌至第七。香港文匯報分析排名分項指標，發現前列港校於學術聲譽、研究影響和國際化指標均表現出色，但各有弱點，其中港大及中大於論文生產力尤其不足，區內百強不入，科大則於師生比表現遜色，於亞洲排第八十四，拖累整體成績，影響了與新加坡內地頂尖名校的競爭。


QS今年向全球約8.4萬名學者及4.3萬名招聘者進行調查，得出大學的學術及僱主聲譽資料，再加上論文生產及引用數、國際教員及學生比例、交換生比例、國際研究網絡等共11項指標，就亞洲500所最佳大學進行排名。


其中，新加坡國立大學重登榜首，港大緊隨其後，去年第一的南洋理工大學則跌落第三。


城大跌出十強  下降13名


其他港校方面，科大雖然下降4位但仍排第七，與上升1位至第九的中大穩佔亞洲前十。


不過，去年第八的城大今年卻跌至第二十一，其餘理大、浸大名次都有微跌，嶺大則由第一百跌至第一百二十三。


至於內地名校今年亦維持強勢，清華、北大及復旦分別排第三、第五及第六，分別比去年上升1位至4位。另浙江大學及上海交通大學名次也有提升，雙雙打入前20名，令內地大學於亞洲20強中佔了5個席位，比去年增加了兩所。


弱項明顯  拖大學後腿


QS研究總監Ben Sowter表示，內地於今年多個排名指標中都有最多上榜大學，佔據主導地位，不過分析顯示，部分人口和資源較少的教育中心，於高等教育競爭仍具優勢。


他提到，以香港為例，今年港大便幾乎躋身榜首，而整體港校於僱主聲譽、國際化和研究影響表現都很好，形容香港「是一個非凡的學習目的地，也是真正卓越大學的所在地」。


香港文匯報記者進一步深入分析港校分項排名表現，發現包括港大、科大及中大，相比區內其他名校各有較明顯弱點，拖累整體排名。以100分滿分計，港大於其中的單位教員論文數只得59.6分，全亞洲只排第一百一十八，屬首10位大學中最差，而中大亦「不遑多讓」只得60.2分排第一百一十四；科大方面，師生比只得75.3分排第八十四，同為前列大學最差。


對是次大學排名，港大發言人指該校一直致力為學生提供優質教育，在教學、研究及知識交流等多方面力求卓越。科大表示排名升跌受不同因素影響，會視之為參考，以了解自己及其他大學的表現，並掌握需要完善的地方。城大亦指會參考各項數據，繼續努力不懈，化大學運作與發展。

論文生產力不足但研究出色

寫論文一定係國内又長又多.見倒有時的新聞可以寫一版報纸就知國内寫野能力.最利害地方係:唔係人人知道寫左咩.

我反而認同與國際接觸有關嘅分數要高,三大都好高分,呢個仍然好重要.

相對其他國家，尤其英美， 香港嘅大學其實"吳國際"囉，國內就真。 當然呢樣野同學位數量有關。

我懷疑，只有一些英語為第一語言的國家，其大學才算國際化。西班牙，德國，芬蘭，瑞典。。。也是相信不會很國際化。

以下德國，瑞典名校世界排名都不錯

If you look at two high ranking Swiss universities, their international student scores are 100%.

Also the international student definition is debatable, particularly in HK.

HK students go to Swiss to do Hotel programs, and must be English based not German.  English programs have a higher chance of getting more international students.  

They count EU students as international, right?

Definition of international student is quite easy to define, it is about the same passport or citizenship or at least permanent residency.  This is very good, clear cut and universally applied to any country.  

But university ranking on internationalisation should not only take the number of international students but also take the diversity of student nationality.  

30% international student coming from 40 countries is better internationalisation than 50% international students from 2 countries.

Top notch universities in research and technology.

EMedIC 2018, hosted in CUHK, the overall winner is from ETH Zurich. The medical device is very practical and ready to launch.

The two universities I mentioned are very top notch in Technology. Not many HK students can get in it.

Can you read more carefully.   I did not say they have many HK students.   I did not even say HK students go to these two universities.

Many HK students get to top notch universities 牛劍哈耶.   And yet not many “can” get in these two?   Wow.  what do you mean by "many"?
