冇分别. esf admission in secondary is also based on catchment and random number. I don't think there is one school better than others in terms of entering esf

there is assessment but I think most IS students will pass. esf always has no preference in particular school, as long as students pass the baseline of the assessment, it is all about luck and catchment

Kingston is a bilingual school with one mandarin and one English teacher at the same time during the class. So I guess you don't need to worry whether the kids are fluent in English. Kids usually talk in English rather than Mandarin.

I'm pretty satisfied with the 'software' provided by the school. It's a small school so teachers and staff know my kid very well. Teachers are all experienced. Turnover rate is low; most of them have been here for 10-15 years. It's the first kindy having IB program in HK and its Chinese level is up to my standard, at least...
As for hardware, it's a small school so don't expect too much =p . Having said that, the size is already good for small kids.

My kid is going to its primary next year. Most of the parents I know decide to stay. Hopefully my kid would keep up his Chinese level.

The biggest concern parents have is that ICHK is really far away.That means we may need to find a new secondary after kids graduated from Kingston primary. It is however, not a really big issue for me at this moment. By the time he's at year 6, there should be lots of choices available...

If you love ESF high school, better apply ESF kindy.
Anfield is not having any privilege anymore... I know some who are at Anfield kindergarten don't even have a chance for ESF elementary interview....

老師已經請返晒，經過之前PA努力爭取，校董會改善左好多，積極同家長溝通，亦期望家長同學校一齊去加強老師士氣。

Are you Kingston’s parents? May I ask what the differences between IS and bilingual kindergarten are? I am thinking if I go to IS ultimately(say Reception or year 1), should I switch my son to Kingston now (插班k1) to increase the chance? (my son is now studying in local bilingual school)

If you target IS and you are from local family, I recommend you to switch to IS k1 instead ofstaying in local bilingual kinder.

In terms of teacher vs student ratio, it’s really different from local. Suppose student can have more chance to speak English if my son will grab the chance. Just think all are from hk or China families, can most of children speak English well? Of course, most can speak English well, it must be a good peer influence

I think it's the curriculum and teachers in an IS kinder that makes the difference. Also, there are ethnic Chinese kids who do prefer to speak English rather than Cantonese / Mandarin in an IS kinder. So you can imagine how strong the immersion is. (I am not saying this is good but this actually happened, and it's not occasional...)
