哈哈，兩間都未讀，如何比呢？有時選學校，要做很多取捨，也和策略，時機有關

I have my elder kid in upper form and my younger one coming to join Y7 in ESF. Both from the same international primary school not linked with any secondary. My observation:

1) kids from international primary schools should have no problem passing the written test and the interview. However kids from local “good” schools might not pass because their training r different. While my kid ranked the English paper “easy”, friend from local school even could not have enough time to finish it

2) yes, there’s still a random number for Y7 central application. A few years ago when my elder one and those classmates applied ESF, I remembered all of them got the assessment. This year my younger one and classmates r born in 金豬年，some classmates didn’t get assessment notification. Parents phoned ESF, they were told that’s because too many applicants and their random number r not favorable

3) non-selective maybe true - one classmate of my elder one is weak academically (as told by my kid), however still got a ESF place. I bumped into him recently, he is enjoying school life, maybe because ESF put students into different groups according to ability

4) when come to choosing Y7, kids have their own idea. My younger one’s classmates may have 10 applied for ESF, all got pass, however finally only 5 took the offer because the other 5 would like to join another secondary school

5) elder kid still have classmates 插班 once in a while, all blended into the class successfully
