I would choose GSIS if I were you, it’s very difficult to enter into GSIS. Once students enter into high school, academic result is important for all IS.

BTW, what did GSIS need your kid to do in the interview? How was your kid’s performance? Is your kid a Germany or Swiss passport holder?

GSIS is a "traditional" IS and is nothing like local schools. I know a few GSIS students with really mediocre academic results but they are very happy.

The more bizzare a thing is, the less mysterious it proves to be.

Yes all k2 can go to y1 automatically without assessment or reapplication. They are really confident in their admission process and teaching. Heard if they think you are not ready for y1 they will offer you to repeat, but so far I don’t see this happening in our year.

There are 2x/ wk PTH in k1K2, then no more chinese till y4 (4 sessions daily). German started at y2, 4-5 sessions per week. Nevertheless many students are taking chinese lessons outside. The primary school finishes early at 12:30 so one have plenty of time to pursue what you like after school.

thanks for your advise!!! decided to take the offer i think!!

Welcome! Don’t worry, if your kid’s type fits in here (which I believe so cuz they claim they are good to spot that), he/ she will be happy here. Though you may need a bit of adjustment at first because it’s quite different from the ESF style (like more structured and disciplined). Personally I think the hardest part is to get up early because it starts at 7:30.
