Want to know the previous acceptance rate into Primary one of ESF / Renaissance ?

Will all K2 students be granted an interview chance ?

Are they separating K1 and K2 students in different class now ?

If you browse older messages in this forum, you will find that in previous years the rate has been consistently over 90%, especially after ESF has abolished the Cat 1 & 2 categorization.

Most do but not all K2 students are invited for interview in the first round, they may get invited in subsequent rounds.

K1 and K2 classes have always been separate in ESF Tsing Yi kindergarten, there are 2 floors and K1 classes are on the upper floor.

First of all, ESF kindergarten pupils who don't proceed to ESF primary schools are a minority. Secondly, many in this group choose not  to proceed rather than can not, so those who actually "fail" are the minority within a minority.
For those who don't go on to ESF primary, which school they select is entirely their personal choice and there isn't a "typical" choice as such.

Don't worry about it because it is already abolished.
It was a scheme to prioritize children who could not speak Cantonese. Under that scheme, a child who speaks good English and Cantonese would have a lower priority against another child who speaks poor English but do not speak Cantonese. It may sound illogical but the rationale at the time was to prioritize children who could not attend local schools because they could not speak Cantonese.

當年攪到好多本地ESF家長唔敢同小孩講廣東話,怕「穿褒」,而家長大了很多仍然唔識講。

Yes, that is a consequence parents will have to accept. If the family plans to predominantly reside in Hongkong then it could be a costly consequence.
In any case, the Cat 1 & 2 scheme is gone, so no worries :)

I have not heard of anyone not offering for interview at any esf/rc/dc. Also did not hear any 1st round, 2nd round interview this year.

For SJS, simply they just visited the school so everyone applied were 'interviewed'

Some applied KJS were asked to go to other ESF schools for interview due to oversubscribed.

There are kids still on waitlist (pass but waiting) for SJS and KJS.  But as far as I know they all have offers from other schools.  Some don't even prefer ESF.  NAIS seems to be popular choice.

If ESF is your first choice, you may wait until Nov to see if you are on guarantee list or reserved list (only for foundations, no such thing for RC and DC).  If you are on reserved list, better apply other schools asap. of course it is always recommend that you apply a few other schools.
