According to my friends and my kid's experience, they usually give CO at a later date, say early January.

LSE usually reject the application very early if they find you are not their prospective applicants. 所以早收通知反而係Rejected 呀！

I do not mean late submission is better. My point is if they find the applicants are not their prospective students, they will reject their application at an early stage. My kid's school friend applied for LSE before the deadline of Oct last year. And she was notified by LSE her application was not successful in November. I am not sure if it is a single case or not.

LSE will reject students at a very early stage if you are not their prospective students, regardless of the date you applied. If you apply in October, you might be rejected in November, if you apply in early January, you might be rejected in late January. My cousin was among them.The odds for different submission time are the same.

Thanks all for the quick response.  I just concern the CO is limited.  Heard some one say so.... they got CO at the early stage, if 100 students applied at the early stage, 60 students are their prospective students, the last 40 students will less of competitive power due to limited offer.

apply early seems with more advantage if the CO is limited.

Oh but my friend’s son didn’t get the rejection until Feb/Mar last year

My cousin was also rejected really late, but her friends were rejected right at the beginning. Judging from their performances, we deduce that those who aren't LSE's cup of tea would immediately be rejected. We also speculate that if your fee status is international, the chance of you getting conditional offer might be higher, though the offer might be out of your league.

My friend’s son is paying international fee and not applied early in the oxbridge round.

There was a hearsay that LSE deliberately de-prioritise those who applied early in October round ie likely Oxbridge applicants, as LSE does not want to be positioned as the second choice to Oxbridge.

Got the email yesterday saying that decision will be made in approximately 8 weeks so will hear from LSE before Christmas.

My son submitted the UCAS before 15 October about 10 years ago because in addition to LSE, he also applied for Oxford. He was rejected in December by Oxford but received an offer from LSE in mid-March. He eventually graduated from LSE.

No interview, though I have heard from an LSE admission seminar that they would seriously consider interview in future.

My daughter got it in the second week of December.  Her classmate applied in DEC and got it in 2/3 weeks' time.
