為何Shatin college 每年成績都如此標青？

我經常出入中西及灣仔區，看見很多補習廣告,可能成行成市有點誇張，但真的不算少。國際學校學生補習不是新聞噢。當然本身資質好不用補最爽。

大家好，題外話，請問STC除學費外，多唔多其他雜費呢？我其實好想女讀IS,但又驚好多冇預計嘅開支，想了解一下。謝謝。

If u r talking about STC(i.e. Secondary school):
1) a once off non refundable capital levy, which is different depends on which Year group your daughter is admitted, for year 7 around $26000
2) laptop computer bought thro school admin, around $9000
3) uniforms
4) school bus, around $1500 per month
5) small amount of books (e.g. Chinese) and exercise book

Then during the term is mainly the tuition fee, once in a while PTA fund raising

Thanks for your information, seems the same as traditional local school.  

My friends told me that students in IS/ ESF need to go to learning centres nowadays(for chinese, english as well as math),  is this true?    I believe studying in IS/ESF is totally different from local ones, thinking and creativity are needed to studying in IS, am I right?  

The reason i want my girl to study in IS is, i want her to THINK instead of just received information from teachers...

Sometimes tuition is just used as a means to enhance one's exam result. Of course those extraordinary students don't need tuition, but most will need it if they aim for several As / near full marks in the public exams.
I personally think it is ok to have tuition on the weak subjects, if there is any.

So, is this common in STC? I agree tuition will enhance weakness, but I think it's overwhelming.  This is what I got from my friends, so I want to ask for more information.  Thx

據我所知，英基除學費外，沒有太多的雜費。電腦、計算機、校服當然臼已買，但大部份的書都是學校提供，用完交回给下一年的同學用，都算環保！每年活動週可選擇參加遊學團，但也有可留港參加平價活動的選擇！
有人輕言話IB要二、三萬補習，我相信不是在英基發生囉！

其實永遠唔會知補和唔補是否有明顯分別，總之自覺要依賴補習才安心的，就只有继續補啦！
但學生主動D多在學校向老師發問有冇試過先！真的補習老師叻過校内老師？！

書留俾下一年學生用又幾好喎，唔使嘥
明白到無論傳統學校和國際學校都一樣，補習都係好個人嘅選擇。
多謝大家意見，希望小女可以有幸加入這個大家庭

這裡的討論變了是IS學生有否或有幾多補習。其實我唔信補習是好成绩的原因，因論補習的普遍性，一定輪唔到英基。

大家請跳出補習思维，想想為何在補習吹谷之外，都會有好成續？！
