You have said what I wanted to say.
My daughter was fully aware that it is going to take her a long time to get her professional qualification. And she thinks it is fine. She is in university now (overseas university), Year 3. Last year she came back to Hong Kong to work as an intern for four months. Her salary was already better than many u grads in other disciplines.
But students should be aware that the work load of architecture students is really huge. Architecture students need to make models, and that would suit someone who is artistic and enjoy doing handy jobs. Model making is very time consuming and can be expensive. The largest model my daughter made so far was one huge full scale wooden structure that can support 4-5 people. The books are quite expensive too. This might be a concern for some families.
