Is  totally  different in kln side as quite many kids with sibling or kinder priority were put on reserved list though having passed the interview.  Also some got direct rejection or require second interview.

Very competitive in kln side

Your son is already very smart. He is on waitlist from two oversubscribed primary schools. You should celebrate with him and wait for good news.

It seems RC only offer interview priority to esf kinder students, but esf kinder students have no advantage over other outsiders who passed the interview. What is the format of RC interview ? Does the interview require reading or writing ? I want to equip my girl better for next year interview . Thank you.

Take it easy. It's not the end of the world. Do you know your random no. with SJS? If not call and find out.  My sons no. Is very low and is asked for a second assessment by RC in May which is a bit weird as why so late?? Anyhow there's nothing I can do but wait and see. Worse comes to worse, speak to the school and get some advice. Maybe your son is a young boy? Mine was born in November.

ESF schools /RC requires no writing at all, the teacher may however ask interviewees questions after reading them story. the kids played toys and drew picture, 4-5 teachers observed them in 1 hour time

It's not really him, having gone through this whole process I really believe luck has a lot to do with it. Take it easy on yourself and your son. ESF is not the be all and end all first of all AND he passed but unfortunately was not lucky enough to be offered a place in the first round. It doesn't mean you won't get a call after the 24th. And it certainly doesn't mean he is not good.:( I understand you are very disappointed. But if I were you I'd find out where I am on the waitlist and then make plans for other IS. Hope you feel better soon.

Why blame the kid but not yourself for not being rich enough to buy the nomination  ...

We are just on waiting list and never had a chance for interview.  I feel much frustrated and blamed god for few days 2 months ago, but now is all over and recovered...

So you are far better than all of us who never been invited for interview.  Right?  And there are far more of us (no interview) than you all who had an interview ticket.

My son is studying in an International kindy only (no primary school).  Every years there are several pupils enter ESF, so the teacher know ESF well.  The british class teacher believe ESF would take my son for sure if we had a chance for interview.... but we simply never had a chance.

So how?  I think Fate has already decided the path, and there is always a better path elsewhere.  Right?

My son is in reserve list, anyone can tell me how big chance can my son get an offer?? I'm super worry as ESF is my first priority.

Useless? Don't say that, if he has passed the interview and is now on the reserve list, he stands a very good chance of receiving an offer in the end, you just need to be more patient. From ESF's experience gained over many years, those who have passed the interview but could not be given an offer right away usually will get an offer later on. Many families apply to multiple schools (e.g. Foundation School + RC + DC) and may receive multiple offers, they'll need to choose one and give up the others by the end of this month so there'll be lots of declined offers which will then go to those on the reserve list.

my son is on RC waitlist too. The email said his interview result is successful. However, a school place is not available for him at this point in time due to the large number of successful applicants who have higher priority.


i am already very happy as he didn't got direct rejection.

Do any of you guys know about the chance of getting a place in waiting list? should i call and ask for the waiting list no though?

You can call RC to ask about yr position in the waitlist , but RC would not answer you the exact no. , just provide you feeling like in the middle of the list or hundred ahead of yrs etc

You misunderstood the process in ESF. Every applicant is assigned a random number which largely determines (within the same priority group) who gets an interview for a guaranteed place, an interview for a reserved place, or no interview at all. In other words it is very much down to luck what your child gets, not by ability.
