The no. is scary, RC offers 162 candidates out of 887 applications, and among 600 interviewees, 400 candidates with priority. Sigh... for me, I am not optimistic, according to my kid's behaviour and language ability.

We did. It was pure luck. After going to the information session at the school I thought we had hardly any chance considering the amount of people that already applied at that stage. Just thankful.
For reference for other potential parents reading.. I can' t remember the numbers quoted that day, but it was something like they can offer around 600 interviews and there are around 400 esf students & some nomination rights that have priority for interview. The other roughly 500 or so people that applied (out of 900) there are 200 potential interview slots. ie 40 percent chance.

The ESF school we applied to announced this morning. The original date was supposed to be the 18th for all schools (including the ESF independent schools), but I think they changed the date on the ESF site.

You already got the interview so it's all good now, the 400 candidates with priority is for a chance to interview, not for admission. You now have equal chance! Good luck to your son!

But As I know, after got passed at the interview, the offer will be given according to their priority list. The successful candidates without any priority may fall to their waitlist pool when the candidates with priority fulfilled into all the 162 places.
